    Saag Aloo recipe -

Please keep in mind that this is pretty dry whilst its cooking so it its probably best to cook in a non stick pan (and i found i had to add a bit more frylight to get the mixture moist ) - It could also be worth actually using the veg oil - not sure on syn value though..Just something to keep in mind as it might help the mixture to stay more moist.

I love saag aloo. I made it last night and added about 200ml of veg stock to the onions and garlic after they hd softened slightly. Stopped it being so dry, but also seemed to add even more flavour! Yum!

    Hi all
Just dropping by quickly- I've gained this week but I spent Sunday night in hospital after collapsing at home, falling on my face and breaking my nose :(
However I'm dead on the weight I want to stay at for a while so I'm doing the young adult plan my consultant suggested.

B: 1x HiFi Rocky Road, 1 x Alpen light cherry bakewell (HEXB 1)
L: pasta carbonara with HEXA Laughing Cow blue cheese, raspberry Mullerlight, pint of NAS cordial with sparkling mineral water
T: Peppered Quorn steaks (free) steamed mixed veg, Worcester sauce, pint of NAS cordial, mango, banana
Snacks: 1/4 packet Metcalfes Skinny Topcorn Sea Salt (3 syns) 2 mini Milkybars (7 syns)
Supper: 4 slices Weight Watchers bread with carefully measured Flora light (2 syns)
You're allowed certain unlimited HEX's on top of the EE plan- I'm trying to maintain until April, easier said than done! I can't exercise at the minute either due to the pain making my head spin so I'm a bit fed up!
    :(

TopBoy is my wonderful, almost 9 year old son :) We've been a family of two for around 4 years now.

We never ate the same things generally as he is always starving after school and I'm rarely hungry before 7 for tea.

However, he has become a big fan of cowboy pie, minced beef hash and spaghetti bolognese, all SW friendly and easy enough to make and reheat.

I tend to stick to buying him lunchbox treats and dessert treats that I don't like as I find that far easier!

I do the same and buy my DH snacks that I don't like but he's a bit older than 9 though! And there was me thinking Top Boy was a visiting paramour!:o:rotfl:

Maman, that made me laugh :D He's marginally less hard work than one of those!

Last night was a football night. Usually this would have meant beers and a takeaway. I had SW chips with some of that Mayflower curry sauce (about 3 syns worth by my reckoning, you get LOADS out of it) and two cans of 7up light :A

Today and tomorrow need to be on point as the dreaded WI is Friday morning.

    Today:

Breakfast - Poached egg and beans on HEXB toast

Dinner - Tuna pasta on a huge salad (1)

Tea - Superfart soup until I am full.

Supper - Options hot chocolate (2)

Snacks - Pineapple, kiwi, melon, apple, carrot sticks and a pack of low syn crisps, probably snackajacks or french fries :T

    Morning

HelenDaveKids & Annie - well done on the losses.

Mrs Ryan good to hear from you - good luck on the maintaining! Hope your feeling better x

Mildredd - How you hanging? x

I'm feeling very bloated today - think this is going to be one of those weeks were I reckon I should have a loss and end up STS :(
Always seem to work that way with me!

I'm really struggling to stop snacking in the evenings! Thankfully tonight I'm out of the house so will stop that problem!

    Menu for today

    B: WW Yogurt, 2 Kiwis & Satsuma

L: 25g Pasta, Boiled Egg, Chicken, Peppers, Pickles, Sweetcorn & 2 Babybel light (he) 2 Syns of Extra Light Mayo

D: Won't be home until 9 so a Mugshot and a Muller light

Snacks: Ryvitta Minis (HE) & an Alpen Light Bar (3.5) Syns

Oh - Tried the McCain Mini Jacket Potatoes - 0.5 syns each. Had two last night with my dinner and they were awful - very powdery like instant mash and went cold very quickly - so wouldn't recommend!

1.5lb off for me this week, thank you 2b

I am going to take a break from SW this week as I have been reading Paul McKenna's Hynpnotic Gastric Band book and Freedom from Emotional Eating so I have followed his 4 rules for the last 2 days.

I really want to stop dieting and stop my battle with food for good. The constant thinking about food and the feeling of failure when I give in to eating something the diet (any diet) says I shouldn't is getting me down.

I don't know if it will work, I will keep SW in the back of my mind though. I will see what this week will bring.
