3.5lb loss for the challenge please 2b

I think that seems a lot - but I'm chuffed to bits, and I had to get on and off the scales a number of times! I have had a good week though, including a couple of steaks in Wetherspoons that might not have been as low syn as I thought, and my birthday on Sunday. I had a small glass of Champers and a piece of birthday cookie - but within Syns.

    Hehehehehe! Happy Mrs Lady!

And you should be a very happy Mrs Lady with that - well done

  • Saag Aloo recipe -

2 tbsp veg oil (i substituted for frylight)
    1 onion - peeled & sliced
    1 clove of garlic
    1 red chilli - deseeded & sliced
    1 tbsp greshly grated ginger
1tsp (level) - black mustard seeds
    1tsp (level) cumin seeds
    1tsp (level) tumeric
500g potatoes ( i used new but any will do) - scrubbed & cut into bite sized chunks
    250g fresh spinach
    salt & pepper

1 - heat the oil (or frylight) in a pan & soften the onions, Add the garlic, chilli, ginger & spices once onions are softened.
2 - add the spuds (once they are cooked) and stir all together .
3 - add the spinach and stir until it wilts. Season for taste.

Please keep in mind that this is pretty dry whilst its cooking so it its probably best to cook in a non stick pan (and i found i had to add a bit more frylight to get the mixture moist ) - It could also be worth actually using the veg oil - not sure on syn value though..Just something to keep in mind as it might help the mixture to stay more moist.

    Hi Denise
Thanks again for checking up on me.
I got the cream cracker syn value from the list I downloaded when I joined. Just checked the new list online and it is still saying 1.5 for all varieties, doesn't mention reduced fat.

    Cream crackers,
    all varieties 1.5 1.5 1.5

Thanks for the heads up re ML lemon cheesecake yogurt - I really should pay more attention! They are scrummy, by the way.

I think it's amazing how you keep on top of everything here. This forum is much better than any group I've ever been to - it's much more personal and there is ALWAYS someone to hold your hand. Thanks.

    Bobbie

1lb loss for me please, 2b Happy with that. I won't make the 7lbs, but it's the right direction. Keep up the good work, 2b.

    Hi all,

not posted since before xmas. starting the SW again doing it myself at home and have joined a gym as well. Can anyone tell me the syn value of aldi pasta sauces - tomato and spicy pepper and mushroom? I usually make my own but with 2 young children I am finding it convenient for meal during the week when partner gets home late.
Also am I right in thinking that the aldi brooklea fat free yoghurts (the ones that look the same as mullerlight) are syn free?
Need to loose about 1 stone (1.5 would be fab!!) and am struggling!
