Well, folks, I well and truly blew it!
Review of Sunday's plan
Breakfast - bacon sandwich hexb - as planned
Lunch - couscous salad with hexa feta cheese - had homemade tomato soup instead
Dinner - chicken Kiev 2.5 syns, salad & wedges, Caribbean trifle (hope to be good and have some fruit Had mixed veg and beetroot instead of salad plus a little bit of trifle and a big bit of fresh fruit salad (apple, mandarin, grapes, cherries, plums, melon, blueberries & strawberries)
And I had (gulps!) 2 coconut tarlets, I fondest fancy and 1 slice bread & jam.
Oh well, back to the drawing board and, hopefully, some damage limitation.
Monday's Plan
Breakfast - mackerel on hexb toast
Lunch - Batchelor's pasta 'n' sauce, beetroot, tomatoes, fruit salad
Dinner - bacon & vegetable frittata (2 syns), salad, ML lemon cheescake yogurt
Snacks - as few as possible that are not syn free!
Well done to those of you with a stronger will than me, good luck to everyone "getting back on the horse".Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
2b just 0.6 off this week
Judging by how I felt when I lost 1.6lbs I should be disappointed, but you know, its a loss, and I'm happy with that.
My goal for this week is to drink more. I know it helps, but I don't drink much, in fact I'm sure some days I've gone without drinking anything at all. I don't really drink tea or coffee, and I hate NAS drinks, oj and ribena are a waste of syns, so its just water. Which is dull but very good, so I will try harder this week.0 -

I was going to say the same as Shala_moo, there's not enough SF, and too much bread. For me planning ahead, even just the day I'm on really helps, and saves me from putting something in my mouth that I've not checked, have no idea of syn value, or even if it fits into the plan at all. I was at a party the night before, and didn't expect there to be a buffet, so I know how hard it is to find anything that can fit into the plan there. I considered just taking the healthier 'innards', like ham or tomato out of the sandwiches, and leaving the bread, but made do with a bit of the veg garnishes. Fortunately I'd had a snack before I went out, so wasn't really hungry. Like Shala says, if you've saved up syns to make allowances, then that's the best way to keep it all on track.
50/50 isn't a Healthy Extra choice I'm afraidIf you really don't like wholemeal bread, the Allinson High Fibre White Bread does count as a choice, although I've struggled to find it stocked in my local s/mkts. Otherwise the Hovis Seed Sensations does (1 medium slice), or the Hovis Nimble Malted Wholegrain (2 slices of a 400g loaf) is a B choice too. Even though it's a healthy extra, I tend to not lose each week if I have bread, but that may just be my fat liking bread, as I've lived on it most of my life! I only have it once or twice a week, and find I don't really miss it now I've found alternatives to choose from.
Olives aren't part of your free choices either, and 4 stuffed olives are 1 syn, 25g of stoned olives are 1.5 syns.
Like Shala said, you won't be at a party every day, and if you'd worked it into your plan, then ignore me! I like it if anyone spots my day's plan looking unlike a good SW day though, so hope you don't mind us mentioning it.
If you find it hard to plan, look at what other's are eating, and see if you have any of that in the house that you can put into your own day. Maybe have the egg first thing, but substitute the bread for some bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, and baked beans. It'll be more filling too.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Well done on the loss, it's a loss, so I'd take that!
Would it help if you put a jug of water in the fridge, and added some slices of lemon and lime to it? I always love that when they do it in restaurants. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

That's a good point - I drink more at work (3 days per week) and the cafe there often has it with ice and citrus slices.
I'll give it a go, thank you!0 -
Morning everyone
Just about up n functioning so Im sat here having a cuppa whilst the little fella eats his 1st brekkie...
Well done on the losses again folks :T
Im going Green today -well I have lots of bean filled trumpy soup to eat.... so it should look something like this:-
500ml semi (hexAx2)
banana
12 speed soup
apple
clementine
12 speed soup
40g red fat cheddar (hexB)
now then -that looks quite sad but I know it's filling and tasty... but that will still leave me 1HexA+1HexB and all my syns ...so I will see how I feel later. * week has kicked in for me too so I feel like a barrage balloon..and so any kind of a loss will be gratefully accepted on Wednesday
Im another one who has "issues" with bread... it seems to hold my weight so I try not to have it too often when Im doing SW -although with star week I have chosen bread to keep me feeling full in a good way. I really enjoyed my beans on toast and my eggs on toast this week....nomnomnom. Is anyone else finding that they are enjoying simple meals more and more?
Well I painted 1 wall of what will be our bedroom when it's done last night and will get on with some more when hubby gets home from work this afternoon -then when that room is all done I get to start work on the little fellas bedroom (well it's all of our room at the moment) -so that will be my body magic for a while
Guess I had better get off and get myself sorted.... have a lovely day everyone and here is to another good week ....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
As usual had too many syns over the weekend and now only have just under 10 syns a day left (29.5 over 3 days)!
Today I've decided on a Green Day:
B: scrambled eggs on toast
L: jacket potato with baked beans, a little cheese (0.5 HEA)cauliflower cheese, mashed potato & green beans
HEA1 - 250ml SS milk
HEA2 - 20g reduced fat cheese (0.5 HEA)
HEB1 - 2 slices WM bread
HEB2 - 40g reduced fat cheese
Syns: 2 tsp Carrs sauce flour (2 syns); WW caramel bar (4 syns) = 6
I've got a few syns spare so may have a Ryvits with Laughing Cow cheese (0.5 HEA + 2) this evening if I need it but quite honestly don't think I will need it.

Morning everybody
Phew - just got caught up with the thread!
Thanks Shala I'm still here just didn't get much time to post from Thursday! Mildredd - where are you? Its wi day for you today isn't it? - Good luck
Went in search of the McCain Rustic Chips at the weekend - couldn't source them anywhere!
Gingerfurball - My belly and upper back as well as my face are the places it really needs to go from now!
Annie021063, Craftwitch, Beanielou. Piglet and Becks81 - well done on your losses.
Topgirl - yikes, I feel your pain, but stick with it - keep your head up high - stay positive and it will come good in the end.
Frogga - Good to hear from you chum!
Suze1984 - Personally now I'm down nearly 5 stone I find the last bit is harder to shift - but that's me personally - I think it just depends on the person etc.
TIE - Hugs to you - I think your very brave. Missing someone never goes away does it and the pain that goes along with it. I hope your teeth are getting sorted and at least that has subsided for you. I admire you for being able to carry on with SW at this difficult time for you.
So had a great weekend - overdosed on the bread but withheld from the crisps this weekend lol. Have just realised that I only eat bread at the weekends and this probably helps me limit the damage. I buy a nimble loaf on a Thursday and throw out whatever is left on a Sunday night. I'm a strange child I know but if its sat there I'll eat it!! Anyway probably had about 8 slices from thurs.
Managed to drag myself out yesterday for a bracing walk! Was only out for half an hour and my ears were stinging when I got back but felt good for it.
Half an hour planned for tonight.
Really upping the fluids until Thursday - would love to get a 3 lb loss to get my 5 stone award.
Menu for today
B: WW Yogurt & Alpen Light (3.5 Syns)
L: HM Celery Soup, Kiwi & MelonMore Celery Soup. Penne with Bacon, Mushrooms, Sweetcorn, Pepper, Onion, Passata & Spices. 20g reduced fat feta (HE)
Snacks: 2 satsumas & Ryvita Minis (HE)
Drinks: 2 Black Coffees, 4 Green Tea , 3 Pints of NAS Cordial0 -
Lantanna - rather than throwing half a loaf away everyweek why don't you split it and put half in the freezer and half in the fridge/bread bin or wherever you keep your bread!
Would stop you eating it all and save you some money as you'd only need to buy a loaf alternate weeks.
Worth considering?

Hi everyone, I have been lurking since Christmas and now I think I've got my brain in gear, I'd like to join in please.
I did SW a couple of years ago and lost 5 st, but have put most back on.
SW really works for me so have made a batch of dynorod soup in the slow cooker overnight, put in a healthy order from. As@a, and am starting from totoday.
What finally made me realise I needed to get myself in hand was falling just before New Year and breaking my right arm, then needing to have a plate put in it.
It's lovely to see names I know, and to see you in it for the long haul.
So,
breakfast: porridge with prunes
lunch: left-over roast from Sunday with peas
tea and snacks: soup (beans, onion, tinned toms, lentils, peppers, etc), fruit.
milk HExA for teas, not sure yet about HexB.
WI at home Monday. Would like to get the up to date books but looked at the prices in E*ay with horror.
Hope you all have a good day, Sue
