  • What I'd really like to know is whether there is a list anywhere of syn free meals I can buy off the shelves or at least low syn?

Do you go to a group? You can buy a little book in group which has all the free branded food in it. I think it's £1.95

At our group people bring mainly fruit and the odd packet of noodles or options chocolate drink.

Our SoW basket is woefully thin (apt I suppose;)) most weeks and what there is tends to be bits of fruit and tins of mushy peas! They do it at all clubs but obviously consultants don't want to spend anything on it, unlike the raffle which is self-funding.

What I'd really like to know is whether there is a list anywhere of syn free meals I can buy off the shelves or at least low syn?

    Any help appreciated.

Now you're a member you have access to the main SW site. If you go to syns online you can put in the shops/manufacturers you use and then search for chicken or pasta or salmon and see what comes up. It's not as simple as a list but it helps. The magazine also has a page with new low syn things on it too.

I'm having a fairly on-plan day. I went to Asda and got a tray of cooked chicken drumsticks and a couple of packs of smoked salmon. Ad 2 rib-eye steaks. All YS, so pleased with that.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, baked beans
    L: 2 chicken drumsticks:o
D: chicken with onions, mushrooms peppers and passata, wedges and broccoli/cauli.
Syns: bite of Crunchie (at footie:)) and wine syns:j
    HEA: milk in drinks

    Hi everyone
I joined SW almost 2 weeks ago and managed to lose 8lb after my first week. From memory of doing this about 10 years ago I think that is pretty normal and don't expect to lose quite as much in the following weeks.

What I'd really like to know is whether there is a list anywhere of syn free meals I can buy off the shelves or at least low syn?

I do try and make food from scratch but have a busy life so need to have a few options that I can fall back on when I need to. Sometimes I am able to get use of a microwave e.g. when at work and need a hot option rather than sandwiches or similar

I used to be a member of a support group/website which reported new products and syn free options as part of a growing list (not part of the official SW site) but that was years ago and can't remember what they were called or maybe they no longer exist.

    Any help appreciated.

Sharonmartine, congratulations on the great loss so far. I think minimins is a good site for help, and support.

If you're a member, the SW syn tool is a good way to look things up. MrsMcC is having the Weight Watcher meals at the moment, and they seem to be around 4.5/5 syns each from what I've seen of her posts. I've had a couple of the Tesco frozen roasting joints, and they've been either free, or 1-2 syns. Be careful of any in rich, or sweet sauces. Plenty of the lamb shanks in mint gravy are only about 1.5 syns each. Some of the Tesco Lighter Choices meals are only a few syns each too. The Quorn meals are often quite good. I don't tend to use many, so hard to help, without a specific search to do for you.

2b posts the chart on a Saturday. Looked back at the one posted on the 18th, and you'd got a 0.8 loss for week 1, there wasn't a post for week 2 from you. Hope that helps!

Sorry to hear you're still having a lot of pain. All that on top of your recent loss must be difficult for you. Be kind to yourself, and don't worry too much about weightloss. Painkillers do have a bad effect on you sometimes, but once you're better, you'll be fine again I'm sure, and see a decent loss. Take care x

Had a quiet day here, but off out to a party this evening. Will stick to diet drinks, as I don't drink alcohol anyway. I'd hoped to be at my 1stone loss by now, that was my target when I joined in November, so a bit disappointed I didn't make it. OH doesn't want to go full-stop, so between us, it's not like we're desperate to go out is it? I'm sure it'll be fine though. Not sure if we're eating before we go out, or on the way to the party yet. So keeping it flexible, but realistic.

    today's meal plan :
    Extra Easy

B - apple (got up rather late)
    L - Bacon Sandwich, HEB + 4.5 syns, ketchup 1
D - Either: left over mince with spuds, or a McDonald's grilled chicken salad 1 syn. If it's the salad, I'll also take along a yogurt and piece of fruit to have after and keep me feeling full, as they aren't very filling.
    HEA - milk in teas
Total Syns = 6.5 syns with the salad, 5.5 without.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

    Good evening all

hope everyone has had a good day.. well done on the losses folks :T
Im late today as me n Charlie have been at mammas house whilst daddy and uncle mark got to work with glazing our greenhouse... so I have just about caught up with myself :D

TIE -hope they have your pain under control soon .

TopGirl -what is in your "fart soup" I make a version of the SW 12 speed soup (known as "trumpy" soup) and I just wondered if it was the same thing? I have a huge vat bubbling away as I type... much to hubbies terror :o:rotfl:....in mine I have:-

    1. 1 tin tomatoes
    2. 1 box passatta
    3. 1 BIG tin of brown lentils
    4. 1 BIG tin white/cannelini beans
    5. 1 tin red kidney beans
    6. 1 tin finger carrots
    7. threw in a jar of those round carrots today too
    8. 500g frozen peppers
    9. 2 chopped onions
    10. 2 large parsnips chopped
    11. 1 tin baked beans
    12. 1 tin garden peas
    13. 2 veg oxos.
I put the onion, parsnip and peppers in the bottom of the pan and the tins on top (drained where needed) and then you need no liquid...
It makes loads....I have the biggest le creuset pan/casserole and its up to the top.... it is lovely on green days with a hexAorB worth of cheese on top mmmmmmmmm
I have little or no space left in the freezers so I may well be eating this for many meals this week,,,, hold on to the roof folks :p

well my food today has been a green day looking like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • apple
    • WW spaghetti bolgnese (4.5)
    • clementine
    • 2 plums
    • WW chilli with wedges (5)
    • lettuce
    • cucumber
    • tomatoes
    • celery
    • peppers
Im not going to make a habit of having 2 ready meals in a day but as I was out and about it was easier -and on plan :T -so I still have 2hexA+2hexBs left and 5.5 syns if need be... so I might make a sandwich or something for supper...ooooh I might have an oat so simple instead nomnomnom

Right off I go again... have a lovely evening everyone and "hello" to all those I have missed..
