Hi all,
It's Friday!!! Thank goodness, its felt like a really long week.
I've had a good day food wise, but then I always do usually its the night-time naughties that tend to get in the way of my weight loss. So I thought I'd jump on here and keep my mind focussed, and away from temptation.
Usually on a Friday night, I would always give myself a foody treat for making it through the working week so Im struggling tonight, but I WILL RESIST!!
Sorry to hear about your gain Top girl, don't let it get you down too much -TOTM is a rotter, Im glad I don't have to worry about it too much. But you can pull it back this week, use it to motivate you - we are all behind you.
Well done to all the other losers today.0 -
Great loss i wanna save money, well done!! At our group the stuff in the SOW basket has to be syn free, so fruit, veg, tins of beans, 1% mugshots etc all allowed.

-2lb loss for me this week 2b
Cooked a chilli tonight and tried it with the cauliflower rice,
:undecided dont think i,d have it again but DH really liked it,
Meal Plan today
B - 2 Weetabix, Skimmed Milk
L - Pineapple, Orange, Pear, Mullerlight.
T - Chilli, Cauliflower Rice Rivita Minis.
3 Teas, 1 Water.
1 Freddo.
I think the fluid retention thing settles down after a week or so, I don't really understand the physiology behind it. Our consultant was talking about it at group a couple of weeks ago in relation to someone who had been really on plan all week and had done 4 extra excercise DVD's but had still gained 2lb.
I'll see if I can sneakily clarify next week and report back for those who are 'going it alone'0 -
always feel a bit embarrassed when read a clear menu for day, as I do tend to snack quite badly (but at least now aiming for no syn snacking). Tonight got home from long day at 8pm absolutely starving (despite HM veg soup 4ish at work) so Had a tin of spaghetti.... Was a recipe for nibbling all night if didnt.
I start now with my porridge, dinner tends to be a left over dish from night before or frozen HM veg soup from freezer, frozen berries and yogurt and then trying to stick to a menu plan for tea with a goal of something new every week. My long term goal being a more varied menu plan over 2-3 weeks rather than the same old. UP to yet had the SW sticky pasta, special fried rice and cooked breakfast.
All family on the plan, I have lost 9lb and hubby 7lb in 3 weeks, such long way to go...Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Really thought the chilli bean soup would be lower in syns than that, looked on the ingredients before I bought it and couldn't see anything other than sugar (waaaay down the list, so can't have been much) that would cause it to be synful!
The moral of the story is, check your syns before you eat it I think:D
You was robbed!! Much like I felt about that chilli chicken from Morrisons (no, I will not let it lie!) :rotfl:i_wanna_save_money! wrote: »(In my group everyone takes a food item as a prize for slimmer of the week, do all groups do this? Just curious)
Congrats on the loss and SOTW. At our group we are asked to take in a piece of fruit for the SOTW. We also have a £5 raffle bag.Hi all

Glad you got some sleep, and amazed you managed to get a decent walk in today too. Well done! Hope you sleep better tonight x

On the SW website it says that the joining fee is still half price, so think that must be continuing until the end of January maybe?
I didn't bother with having any treats this evening in the end, I just didn't feel the need. I'm not sure if not having my syns will affect my loss or not? I'm just very aware that * is due any time, and WI is Monday, so maybe being extra good might help with that? I'm eating plenty enough otherwise, so getting calories that way, so surely I don't really need to fill up on sugar too? I tend to use my syns in meals if possible, to make them as 'normal' as I can, and allow for dressings/gravy, etc.
Have a good weekend all!One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Evening all - well, technically it is morning, but I'm still sticking with my 'don't post until you definitely won't eat anything else' rule.
Review of Friday's plan
Breakfast - French toast, strawberries/blueberries
Lunch - don't know (I'll be at hairdresser)
Dinner - peppered steak, chips and broccoli - 0.5syns
fruit salad & yogurt
I had a wee tub of fresh fruit (grapes, melon, mango and pineapple) for lunch, plus 2 cream crackers (3syns) and 1 dairylea light triangle (hexa). I swapped mushrooms and onions fried in Fry Light for the broccoli. I followed that with a Hartley's 10 cal jelly (0.5 syns). Today's snacks were caramel treat bar (4.5 syns), Alpen Light apple bar (3 syns), cherries and a banana. Total 11 syns.
Saturday's plan
Breakfast - bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes
Lunch - homemade tomato soup
Dinner - beanburger, cheese (hexa) and salad on wholemeal roll (hexb)
Well done everyone, for making the effort.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Hi everyone
I joined SW almost 2 weeks ago and managed to lose 8lb after my first week. From memory of doing this about 10 years ago I think that is pretty normal and don't expect to lose quite as much in the following weeks.
What I'd really like to know is whether there is a list anywhere of syn free meals I can buy off the shelves or at least low syn?
I do try and make food from scratch but have a busy life so need to have a few options that I can fall back on when I need to. Sometimes I am able to get use of a microwave e.g. when at work and need a hot option rather than sandwiches or similar
I used to be a member of a support group/website which reported new products and syn free options as part of a growing list (not part of the official SW site) but that was years ago and can't remember what they were called or maybe they no longer exist.
Any help appreciated.0 -
Just hopping on to be polite and let you all know that I'm still alive, the cat next door hasn't got me yet
I'd been good all week. Up until last night. Then I had some sweets, chocolate, and some fruity bread/toast. I then had lots more sweets.
I weighed myself this morning and I'm now 14st 6lb so have put on 4lb since my first weeks loss of 11lb. I didn't look last week so I'd declared a STS.
Like I said I'd been good all week. But I'd been dreadful the week before that, and this week I have eaten LOADS> It was all 'free foods' but I've eaten tons and tons of fruit. I've also had a big cooked breakfast every day. All 'free' again. I'm feeling ok about it at the mo because at least I haven't been eating junk, and I feel quite healthy on it. I had to ease myself back off the carp eating gently.
So, I've just had another cooked breakfast, and I plan on eating a lot of veg today, but I shall try to cut down on the fruit. Having said that, if I want something, I'll stuff fruit because it's better than toast, chocolate, or cake
I'm afraid I just can't keep up with the thread. You're averaging out at 5 pages a day, and I just can't do it during term time. I hope you're all well. I think of you all, and hope you're doing better than me
2b it's a 4lb gain for me then, would it be possible to give you my results at the end of the challenge on Friday 14th Feb? Rather than a weekly weigh in? If that's a pain, I don't mind if you remove me. I'm just not sure how helpful it is to my mental health having to keep looking at the scales every week
Love you all
xxxxxx
Maybe I won't give up, maybe I'll just hop back on again next Saturday morning, with a good loss. It's only a week. I could do that.Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
