Sorry been really rubbish at coming here every day again..
I've skim read through, hope everyone's ok.. Topgirl, if you weren't expecting that gain then big hugs.. as MrsMc says, it won't be pure fat though, so hopefully it'll come off pretty darn quickly if you keep at it..
Bit too many syns already todaybut still within calories according to MFP so that's something! Won't post my menu but I've had belvita biscuits as I was starving at work so I dread to think of how many syns that was!!
Will probably go for a walk tonight to make up for the piggyness..
Thanks for the app advice lindens.. quite fancy that one as i'm terrible for not drinking enough!!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Hi everyone, currently doing slimming world from home and want to lose around a stone and a half.
Does anyone find it harder to lose this amount of weight compared to i.e 4 stone?
It seems to be more disheartening when you do put on one pound
I'm going to start putting my food on here each day to see if you lovely people can help me see where I might be going wrong! TIA x0 -
hello and welcome,
I also have a lot to lose, so don't be embarrassed (about 12 stone), we are all here for the same goal: to be healthier, eat better and look fabulous
I didn't realise you can more syns if you are bigger, I thought 15 syns were the limit. I am doing SW from home.
Sounds like you should be having 20 then as I have a bit less than that to lose - don't know the threshold though, sorry, I'll see if I can google some info for you0 -
ugh...had a terrible, terrible morning at work (I lost a pack that had business receipts - every one - from the last two years that had to go to our accountant today at the latest...turns out they had fallen out of my bag at the theater we were at last week - hows that for detective work!! so I did get them eventually - so only getting round to having breakfast now!!) I am the opposite of a comfort eater...when stressed Ican't eat...which is just as bad I guess!
Anyway all's good now and I'm having a cuppa!0 -
Afternoon, I've just caught up with the thread, but doing it in bits n bobs means I'm then rubbish at replying to anyone individually.
Well done on the losses, and to anyone disappointed with a gain/sts, hang on in there. Stick with it, and it'll come good in the end.
Well I had a slight change of plan to yesterday's food, as I didn't cook the shepherds pie as planned... we're having that tonight instead.
So yesterday was : EE
B - magic porridge HEB in an Activia Creamy banana/caramel 2.5 syns, banana
L - quiche, not so low fat chilli chicken  3 syns, salad, dressing 1 syn. Danio yogurt 1.5 syns
D - Roast beef, sw roast potatoes, mixed veggies, gravy 2 syns
HEA - milk in teas
Total Syns = 10
Now, our dinner was a 1kg beef roasting joint from Farmfoods, but I cannot find it on the syns app. I would usually consider it free, because it was lean, however, there was a distinct 'aftertaste', that was very salty, and a little bit sweet, and when I checked the packaging, it had added citric fibre, and water. Would this add any syns? I have to say, it really wasn't that nice, so won't be buying one of those again. Why can't they just leave food alone? It's only 15% of the joint, so why not just make it an 850g joint instead?
Anyway, here's today's plan:
Extra Easy
B - magic porridge HEB, Activia creamy yog 2.5 syns, banana
L - Mug Shot chinese noodles, plus extra egg noddles (not that great if I'm honest) mullerlight, apple
D - shepherds pie (probably not assembled, so savoury mince plus mash). I've slipped in some mushy peas, plus a tin of five baked beans, along with cauliflower, peas and carrots... think that might prove a tad windy tonight :rotfl:
HeA - milk in tea/coffee
Now, I might just allow myself a little treat of some chocolate tonight, as I've not had any in a fair while, and I'm approaching * week, when I always crave sweet things. Failing that, I'll have a hot choc instead which will be less syns. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -

Everyone with 4 stone to lose has to lose 2.5 stones before they get to the point that you are at. Although it may come off quicker initially, they have to lose that 1.5 stones plus 2.5 more. I'm not sure how that can be easier...0 -
I only had 1.5 stone to lose when I started and found that I was only losing 0.5 or 1lb a week so it seemed to take quite a long time as I never had any big losses.
No matter how long it takes you will feel better for losing the weight.
I also agree with Trow that even those who have more to lose eventually get to the stage of having to lose 1.5 stone!

Hi suze :hello:
I had about the same amount as you to lose and also did it from home (along with the support of the lovely bunch of people on this thread). It took me about 6 months altogether and I have managed to stay at target for over a year now. I think I might have been lucky but I didn't find it too hard to lose the weight and, as others on here know, I struggle to keep at my target - I keep going too low!
There are lots of people on here that will help if you post your menus.
Just in case I'm not around at the weekend, have a great weekend everyone :j0 -

Sukeyboo, how many syns did you allow yourself daily? I am only asking because I seem to be a slow loser too and am wondering whether to stick at 10 or reduce to 5. I would be interested to know what you did. I wouldn't mind if it took me 6 months to lose my excess (12lb) if I knew it would def come off with this plan.0 -

Hi toomuchworry,
I must admit I didn't stick to the 10-15 syns per day - I tried to limit my daily syns to less than 5 and did much the same as Maman and 'banked' my syns for 'weekend wine'. Not the true SW line but it worked for me.
