    You know she's right mildredd.

I'm off out for yet another pub meal tonight. I doubt it'll be as healthy as last night's but tomorrow is going to be 100% on plan so a bit of damage limitation coming up.
  • well done losers :) hugs to those that need them.

Moment of truth for me later... mostly been on plan this week but had minor slip ups with chocolate and ice cream a couple of days.

    Not eaten much today:

    B - toast (B) laughing cow (A)
L - special k chewy bar (4.5), banana, mullerlight, orange
    D - cowboy hotpot

I have made a victoria sponge cake for a meeting tonight so no doubt I will also have a slice of that, and maybe a glass of wine :o

thanks for the link re the slimfast cholcolate caramel treats. I ordered a box yesterday and they've just arrived so, of course, I had to sample one ;) It was quite tasty, although a bit more chewy than I expected. It's a keeper though! Thanks again.

That's what I like about them.. Take a while to chew on so you feel like you've had something naughty ;) the nougat ones not as nice though.. Won't get them again!
  • Hello All :hello:

I haven't disapeared, I've just had a crazy busy week!

    Hoping everyone is o.k.

Mildredd I'm also guilty of hoping on and off the scales at will. I'm actually thinking of slinging mine out and just being weighed at group.

I had a cream egg after weigh in last week as a 'treat' and i have to say I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I mostly use my syns for more 'healthy' options (extra cereal, bread e.t.c.) and I'm beginning to think that if you go without really sweet stuff for long enough that your taste buds actually change? Is this just me or has anybody else found this?

    Anyhoo, today looked like this
B 2 weetabix with milk (2) and Hexb

L Huge salad of beansprouts, carrots, sweetcorn, lettuce, pasta and cheese Hexa. Mullerlight. Bannana. Don't know why but I was starving at lunchtime today, can you tell :rotfl:

D Pasta with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes (2), courgettes, light garlic and herb philly (Hexa) and fromage frais. Pineapple.

If I'm hungry before bed I'll have a couple of weetabix.

I'm going to try and not have any more syns today as there was a cheese straw incident yesterday:o.

Weigh day tomorrow evening so fingers crossed the cheese straws haven't done too much damage:D
  • Well here I am at the end of week 3. Another good week - have not overeaten in anyway shape or form. averaged 10 syns per day - used them wisely - no sugary snacks - got on scales expecting something good....
A big fat STS again for the second week running.
Now last week I was very disappointed. This week I'm just plain curious as to why this is not working for me.
Ok I aim aiming to lose 12lb, so not a huge amount, granted
I am eating well within the plan, not inbetween meals and certainly not oversizing portions. So one of three things are happening here.

    1. I am not eating enough - possible but thought I would still see a tiny loss if that is the case?

    2. eating too much - no, def not the case unless maybe should reduce syns to 5 or less?

    3. I am eating exactly the amount that my body needs to maintain.
The 3rd option seems more likely. I am nowhere near as active as I was a few years ago. I am the other side of the menopause - so maybe my food requirements and metabolism have changed considerably?

Plus points:- I love this way of eating
I feel so much better in myself
    I am sleeping better
    I do not feel bloated
My nails are growing so fast

Bad Point :- I am not losing weight.

So on balance it makes sense to carry on with the plan. Maybe get more active - cut down on syns? What do you ladies think?

BTW :- Well done to all who have lost and keep going to those who are struggling a bit.
sorry for the long ramble - just needed to get it out of my head so I can move on. x

    Good evening all

Crafty witch, yep, when I last did SW I cut out all chocolate etc and I lost the taste for all of it -so much so that I had to bypass the sweet/chocolate alley in the supermarkets as the smell made me feel sick :j -I have gone cold turkey again this time as I find it much easier than doing "moderation".
I know that as long as I don't buy something then Im fine.. if I buy it in planning on using it for my syns etc whatever it is will sit in the kitchen calling to me and I will end up face down in it :rotfl:. Doing my shopping online is also helping as I have time to consider what is in my basket rather than impulse buying..
Im lucky as I have no excuse for buying in "goodies" as I don't have to get them in for children, packed lunches etc .... just me, hubby and CharlieB so I have NO excuse to buy them :T

TooMuchWorry -I would try a week of eating more syns, or more in general ..it could be that with having less to lose you might kick start your metabolism...

well I hope everyone is ok ...

I have gone EE today and so far it has gone like this:-

    500ml semi (hexAx2)
    apple
    WW hotpot (5syns)
slow cooked Chinese pork (1 syn)
    rice
    veggies

now I haven't used my hexB yet but have no idea if I will get it used... and I actually split my dinner into 2 bowls as Im not very hungry -so I can have the other half for supper if need be...

I have a shopping delivery coming tomorrow so plenty more fruit... it's costing me on average of £16 a week just for fruit at the moment -which I don't begrudge as IM not buying, snacks, takeaways etc -but it still makes your eyes water  -glad we only have one little munchkin as he has my fruit addiction :rotfl:

right enough waffle... have a good evening and good luck to those weighing in tonight or in the morning..

Are you changing up what you are eating? Different HEB's every day, different breakfasts/fruit/veg. Are you bulking your meals out with enough veg to carry it all out of your digestive system or drinking enough fluids to flush it all out?

It's all too easy to get stuck in a rut of the same meals over and over and it will slow your metabolism. Changing things round gives it a kick start. Xx
