Good evening . I hope you are all having a good day.
I have 2 questions that I wondered if you lovely peeps could help me with?
Firstly, I have been given a SW receipe book that only have values for green or red . i am doing EE so how would I work out the syns per serving?
Secondly, could you tell me how many syns are in 30g of reduced fat cheddar (30% less fat) if not using as a Hex??
Thank you in advance!0 -
So tired today, was up at 4.45am and got home from about 30 minutes ago. Going to force myself to boot camp tonight though as I haven't been since wednesday last week.
Todays food diary:
L - ham and egg salad, grapes and cherries
D - ? perhaps a pasta n sauce with a bit of salad on the side (OH and friend are having pizza but I really want to resist!)
snacks - 2x alpen light (B), cherry layer muller light (1.5?), satsuma, banana, velvet crunch (4)
Just tried to have a low-fat super noodles as a snack before bootcamp at 7 and it was vile
Might treat myself to a gin and slimline tonic later or some chocolate but i'll see how I go with the pizza calling to me!Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Sorry can't help with the cheese syns as I'm having problems with the website, it won't let me scroll the syn pages.
I've thought about the recipes and I think it will depend on what the ingredient is that's causing the syns. If it was fat or sugar or flour(so perhaps oil or honey or cornflour) then the syns would be the same on EE. Same goes for things that can be used as a HEX (so bread, cheese, milk) The difference would be if there was meat or fish in a Green recipe then you could ignore those syns. Conversely if there were carbs in a red recipe (like potatoes) then you could ignore those on EE. That's my take on it but I'm sure others will have an opinion. Perhaps if there's a particular recipe you fancy you could post it and we'll test my theory!;)
My EE menu today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: none:obaked cod, dauphinoise potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, mushrooms
Syns: quite a few in potatoes and wine syns tonight:j
Not a good day really, but tomorrow will be better.:)0 -
TooMuchWorry
reduced fat cheddar is 3.5 syns for 25g
as for the recipes on EE I would work on all lean meat, potato, pasta, rice, veg etc being free and just pick out the items that you would syn -so oils, ketchups sauces, dairy etc... As Maman say post a recipe and we will soon figure it out. Most of my slimming world recipes are actually recipes fro mags like the good food guide that I just work out
By the way are you in need of a book (the one you get when you join up at SW) so you have the basics? if so PM me your address as I have sent one out but have at least one more to spare...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I've always even told that if no EE syns are listed then take the lower value of red or green x- Kitty xx0

Hi joedenise and lantanna - thanks for all the input.
I do eat meat. That's why I'm not thrilled by veggie sausages. We don't have Sainsbugs nearby unfortunately. Our nearest town has a small co-op and a bigger lidl, but I do most of my shopping in Tesco. I like the sound of Linda McC rosemary and red onion ones, so I'll look out for them. I'm not particularly fond of sausages other than a nice square sliced Lorne, but that's bound to be supersynful!
You are giving so much support to everyone - it's certainly just what I need. Here's hoping!Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -

I'll cut it out for a week & see how that goes.
Options are only 2 syns or 3 if you have the indulgent range. I love the cracking hazelnut one with the last of my HEXA milk!0
