Have you tried the superspeed soup? I swear it rescued me after my sat fat weekend?

Good evening . I hope you are all having a good day.
I have 2 questions that I wondered if you lovely peeps could help me with?
Firstly, I have been given a SW receipe book that only have values for green or red . i am doing EE so how would I work out the syns per serving?
Secondly, could you tell me how many syns are in 30g of reduced fat cheddar (30% less fat) if not using as a Hex??

    Thank you in advance!

Just looked on the SW website and 25g2 of reduced fat cheddar is 4 syns so I would say 4.5 syns.

2b I lost 0.5lb for my second weigh in of the challenge.

What's your favourite low/no syn treat?

I love options hot chocolate, especially cracking hazelnut and have one most days at 2 syns, with a splash of HEXA milk to make it that bit creamier.

Muller light yoghurts as standard, love the tip of freezing the greek style ones.

I really enjoy a huge superfree salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, grated carrot, red and yellow pepper, beetroot, gherkin and pickled onion topped with either a packet of chicken tikka, tuna pasta at 1-2 sysn depending on extra light mayo or seafood sticks or a supermarket seafood selection with lots of black pepper and vinegar if seafood. It's my staple work dinner :D

Big fan of the homemade mackerel pate recipe I found on Minimins, 1 syn per batch if you use Aldi mackerel and I get at least 2 portions out of it but I always 1 syn it as I'd rather be safe than sorry!

That's why I'm not thrilled by veggie sausages. We don't have Sainsbugs nearby unfortunately. Our nearest town has a small co-op and a bigger lidl, but I do most of my shopping in Tesco.

Tesco's Light Choices sausages are 1 syn each - they used to be 0.5 syn as well but changed the recipe recently which increased the syn value. I actually preferred the 0.5 syn ones (maybe it was because they were only 0.5 syn, LOL!)

They've changed the light choices range.. Now called healthy living, packaging is different.. Confused me when looking for sausages this week.. I wonder if the syns will be the same? Must check it out!

Edit: they are still 1 syn each

    Evening all,

Have had a quiet day here, but quiet is good.

After all the talk of slow cookers, I decided to dust mine off (actually, I cover it in clingfilm so I don't have to) and make something in it. So, I got a pack of frozen casserole beef out of the freezer, that I'd forgotten I'd ordered last week, and made a beef casserole/stew thingamy. It was really rather scrummy, and just goes to show that when you start chucking all manner of stuff in a slow cooker, including varying age packets of frozen veggies, bendy veg from the bottom of the fridge, and tin of mushy peas, you can end up with something super tasty and filling 6 hours later! I put in some pearl barley, and really did the trick of thickening it up a treat. I do think it is possibly the equivalent of speed casserole, and think it could be a tad windy tonight... and I'm not talking about the weather! ;)

    So, here's today's meal plan :
    Extra Easy

B - Magic porridge HEB, with some sliced tinned apples 1.5 syns
L - Savoury rice, chopped bacon, some spoons of the veg out of the slow cooker (incl. peas, cauliflower, carrots).
D - Beef casserole (incl: peas, mushy peas, cauliflower, carrots, pearl barley, swede, turnip, onions, crushed ginger, broccoli, peppers, celery, tomato passata, tin of new potatoes). Gravy mix 1.5 syns
Snack - Muller Greek Yogurt 0.5 syn
    HEA - milk in tea/coffee
    Total Syns = 3.5

The rice I had at lunchtime was very tasty too, and I guiltily ate the whole packet. I did feel stuffed afterwards, but really do need to work on controlling myself with the portions more.

I don't need any other snacks or syns today though, so perhaps it balances itself out in the end?

Do what we all try to do, draw a line under it. You can't change what's happened, but you can try to do some damage limitation over the next few days. Rather than looking back at the bad, look forward and plan how to be better.
