A query please
I love a good sausage! And on SW i like snacking on them as they are syn free/low syns if you choose the Sains or Tesc low fat cumberland. However they are pretty bland and tasteless.
Has anyone tried any better ones that are of very low syn value? You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
2ba3c I've sts this week. Thanks for doing the lists.
Really disappointed at staying the same as I had a really good week right up until Monday when DH was admitted to hospital. I ate nothing all day and then crammed a couple of chocolate bars in before I passed out. Not exactly on plan!

Snack - Xmas pudding Hifi Bar (1xHEB).
L - Pasta salad with cucumber, sweetcorn, red peppers, piquante peppers, Hellman's Fat Free Vinaigrette dressing (all free) and 60g of grated Red Leicester cheese (2xHEAs). Mullerlight for afters.
D - planning on making mushy pea curry tonight with rice. Will bulk it out with peppers, onions and mushrooms. Fruit salad afterwards.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Thanks mumoftwo. He was discharged last night so hopefully he will perk up again soon but it's an ongoing thing. He had a head injury in 2011 and suffers seizures etc because of it. On Monday he had 6 seizures and hit his head during one of them, so they kept him in for observation.
I really need to keep more syn free stuff in my bag incase it happens again XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Just a thought for us all - I took my measurements at the start of this diet and so far I've lost:
Chest - .5 of an inch
Waist - 2 inches
Arms - an inch of each
Thighs - an inch of eac
(nothing off hips so far)
That's 6.5 inches off so far!! You all should take your measurements too as sometimes we don't see loss on the scales but we can see losses in inches.0 -
WI today and a STS . I am beyond dissapointed.
I have not cheated or had extra all week apart from maybe a coffee or two a day so extra milk?
I have averaged 10 syns a day and written everything down.
However, I am a bit bloaty in a bunged up sort of way IYSWIM so I will up the veggies (am having a lot of salad so lots of water there and not much bulk.)n If anything I have eaten less this week than last although when comparing the two week I have had quite a carb heavy week where as the first week was more protein but as I am on EE I thought that was ok?
I have come home from work and been rebellious by having a bit of fruit cake and a couple of biscuits. I am not going to syn them I am just going to move on and start again from my next meal (tonight) rather than having a major blow out and starting tommorow.
I am aiming for 1lb off next week and it starts NOW!!
I hope everyone has a good week.
Please-let-me-be-lucky : hope things are better for you and hubby this week.0 -
bought some slim fast choc caramel bars on amazon, enjoying them for a choccy fix when needed.. only 4 1/2 syns and feel way more substantial as a treat than an alpen.. £5.52 for 24 so miles cheaper than hi-fi's too http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00APJZYE8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=10

I started my SW journey at the end of July 2013 and so far have lost 29.5lbs, 8 inches off my waist and 4 inches off my chest so it is a good idea to measure as well.

thank you, :j:j
I have just looked up Joedenise's recipe for the hoisin sausages, was in Sainsb and was buying sausages when I thought of them, lol bought the hoisin sauce etc. Just copying and pasting the recipe in here for easiness so I can find it later on when I need it.
20 pork cocktail sausages - I used pkt BGTY cumberland cut in 4
2 level tbsp hoisin sauce
4 tbsp tomato pur!e
4 tbsp dark soy sauce
¼ tsp sweetener
¼ tsp dried red chilli flakes
Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a dish and then put the cut up sausages and turn to coat. Try to get them into a single layer.
Cook in a pre-heated oven for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees. I turned them in the sauce halfway through cooking although to ensure they were coated more evenly.
They sound lovely and can't wait to try them.
edited to add: I didn't realise hoisin sauce is 2 syns per tblspoon, so the whole recipe made with Sainsb. pack of sausages (8 x 0.5 syn) and the marinade will come to 8 syns, is that correct?
I normally make these for tasters in group - the recipe is in the entertaining book - if you reduce the soy a bit it makes a lovely pasta dish (stir through cooked pasta & bit of pasta water)
Today & yesterday been a lot better - still snacking lots but snacking on free vege sausages & cut up cold jackets!!!
NSV yesterday - ate an apple for the first time in years & I didn't cut it up either - massive step forward for me!0
