definitely a few of us struggling at the minute.
I go for at least one 45 minute walk a week. Its only been cut down to one this last month or so - just because of the weather.
I was averaging 3 usually with 5 or 6 on a really good bit.
I've lost 4.7 stone and don't have any skin (yet) so I'm hoping this has been because of the walking - must get back out there soon.
Mich city - do whats right for you but keep posting here, hugs to you.
Mildredd - would love to see you in the mag
Re: The fruit debate - Personally I find I get better losses when I have limited fruit and restrict my carbs. Only thing is its easier said than done - especially in the winter when you are craving stodgy foods. I also like to eat variety and don't think anything should be banned so I would hate to cut them out completely but it can def help with weight loss. I have cut them out completely before and the lack of energy and bad breath just wasn't worth it.
Sary - keep with it - it will come off. Maybe you need to look a portion sizes?? I has asked the question about Savoury Rice etc last week as I would have eaten a whole pack but apparently its two portions. I only had one pound loss last week and I had savoury rice, pasta and sauce and slimming world chips nearly every night - which isn't my typical week - so I won't be repeating that again.
Really on the pull back at the min. Fear though the bread and crisps at the weekend have done too much damage for a loss this week. Need to get my act together!!
Today's Menu
B: Pineapple & WW Yogurt
L: 20g Pasta, Chicken & Ham Slices, Passata, Sweetcorn, Red Onion, Pepper, Mushroom, Butternut Squash with 25g Reduced Fat FetaHM Veg Soup - no barley
Grilled Pork Chop, 25g Brown Rice, Roasted Butternut Squash, onion, pepper, mushroom, sweetcorn
Oh & Mildredd I drank lots of fluids yesterday and was up twice during the night lol0 -
WI last night. 1.5 off. Not brilliant for first week but had a couple of nights out. It seems I get better as I go along:o My advice re exercise is get a dog! A bit drastic but I am out day in day out and I know if there was one spot of rain I wouldn't go if I didn't have her looking at me with her sad labrador eyes:D
Sunday I walked about 5k with her round and round a big field whilst DD had hockey training/match. It doesn't help with my weightloss but tones my legs and it's nice to get out, even when I don't feel like going.Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0 -
Arsenelbarnie - it really does help with toning - my legs are super toned.
Sadly I lost my wee pooch last year - enjoy every second with yours xx0 -
The only exercise I do is walking - with my dd in her pram or buggy. I try to go out most days but it doesn't always happen? I'm currently charting my distances against the body magic section on the website
and have mapped a few walks out for distance? Ie I will walk into town instead of getting the bus or getting a lift - I know the distance is 1.5 miles and then I don't count any walking in town as its at a different pace
Too much pasta effects my weight loss once a week no effect more than that and my weight loss slows down.
I actually do a food diary every day as I tend to 'forget' syns over wise
Sary could it be a hormonal blip effecting weight loss???
Lantanna - you are my inspiration you are amazingyeah there is that side effect but the week I started with the extra bad squash I lost 5? Maybe coincidence though but I defo try to up my water at the weekend before weigh in even if it does make me pee a lot

Good Morning & A Happy Tuesday :beer::j
I am nearing the end of *week and so have not yet weighed myself - will wait til next week i think (well i say this but i will be more likely impatient and go later this week:o) .
I am in a very sing song mood today, and feeling very chirpy indeed. Yesterday i had my "fast" day of the week so wasnt on plan but today we are back to normal :T. Not much has been happening in rainbow land really - went to the cinema (took my own snacks - how virtuous am i :T:o) and watched paranormal activity - the marked ones. I think they were trying to tie the original story into a new one expect they epically failed so i wasnt that impressed.
There is lots of mentions about exercise - well i am not exercise inclined really (i seem to take to it in fits & bursts) but i do like to go for the odd cycle at weekend and last week i walked home on one evening from work ( 6.5 miles - 3 uphill) so that was my excercise for the week. I plan to to the same this evening (unless it is raining that is ) . This year i am trying not to go overboard on the exercise front because i think after the honeymoon period i get fed up of it and so revert back to my old ways - i hope by walking home the once a week i can incorporate this into my weekly routine without it becoming a "chore" , and who knows come spring i may wish to walk to work as well - we will see.
So today i am having an EE day :-
B - 2 x toast (hex b) with marmite & spread (2). Tangerine afterwards.
L - Pasta with butternut squash & mushrooms
D - I dont know yet - it will be something to use up the mushrooms, onion & peppers & potatoes . Maybe an omelette with SW chips?
snacks - apple & pomegrante, milk (hex a), Kitkat (5.5) and maybe an options (2)
Have a good day all..Keep plodding. 0.5 off is better than 0.5 on :T

Was going to do a Red day today and had worked out my plan for today and then realised I have some baked beans in the fridge that I really have to use today or they will need to go in the bin - and I will not waste food, if I can help it so EE it will have to be today:
B - Mushrooms (cooked in the microwave with 5g of butter, yum) on toast
L - HM Chicken & veg soup (need to get this out of the freezer asap)
D - Fry up with SW chips
Syns: Butter 2; 2 Tesco Cumberland sausages 2
HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
HEB - bread
Snacks - mullerlight; banana; melon

Well it is Tuesday and I can't put off any longer. This morning I weighed in at 14st 1lb. As I said before, I'll be aiming for slow and steady, so I'll be happy to lose 1lb by next week - any extra will be a bonus. Tuesday is family dinner night - 6 adults and 3 children.
Today's menu is straight out of SW mag.
Breakfast - herb omelette with tomatoes and spring onions
lunch - Uncle Ben's risotto bacon & mushroom, 6syns (couldn't find med veg one), fruit
dinner - Singapore beef, 1 syn followed by fruit and ff greek yogurt,
That's a starting point of 7 syns.
Haven't decided on hexa, or hexb yet. I don't take milk in tea and I don't have any wholemeal bread. I have a half of a nice Scottish plain loaf, but that's 7 syns per slice, so best avoided methinks.
BTW, I usually make my own bread - does anyone have any idea how to calculate syns for that?
Good luck everyone.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Morning all - welcome newbies and well done to the losers
Today is something like this:
B: 35g porridge made up with skim milk HEX a and b
L: will be yogurt and fruitsomething with SW chips and salad...I'm thinking gammon steak and fried egg (yeah that sounds good lol!!)
I really need to get Syns in as I'm not using any and I plan to use them for wine when January is over...so I think I need to introduce them now so that it's not just extra stuff I have when the dry jan is over if you know what I mean!!
Exercise...I'm running 3 days a week at the minute...it is actually really hard to lose weight while marathon training...I'm hoping that the SW diet will help me as it has a really healthy approach.
(Any help re getting syns into my plan would be gratefully received!!)0 -

There's a lady in my group who makes her own wholemeal bread and the consultant just says to cut a slice and weigh it - cut off crusts if necessary, LOL! to get 60g.
There are loads of things you can have for your HEB instead of bread and it's actually a good idea to try to get as much variety as possible and not have bread every day.
We had a challenge in group last year to have different HEBs every day - so 7 different ones on EE and try for even more if doing Red or Green! Although there are loads it's still quite difficult to fit in 7 different ones when you can only have bread once, porridge once etc!
Good luck.
Have had to change my lunch from the original plan as the soup is still solid, so will have that tomorrow instead. Have had a look in the fridge and looks like it's either Jacket potato with tuna may or tuna mayo with salad. Think the jacket potato wins because I'm so cold having been out in the garden going through my freezers to see what needs using up in the fairly near future - glad to say it's just some chicken thighs and legs and a smoked haddock fillet so will get those into my meal plan over the next month or so.

Am having a huge problem posting. We've recently got Windows 8:mad:
Theonly exercise I do is walking - with my dd in her pram or buggy.
Maman-what kind of dance?
When my DD was young I lived at the top of a verysteep hill so Body Magic with the buggy was obligatory!:rotfl:
I do Scottish Country Dancing. It's a teaching class so while the dancing can be energetic, there's plenty of rest while we walk through new dances.
Another thing I read about in the 'can't do anyharm and might actually help debate' is that vegetables from above the ground are better for weightloss than the more 'carby' root vegetables.
EE again for me today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, scrambled eggs, HEA milkfor teas
L: really not sure, probably same chicken andbubble&squeak as yesterdaysausage, mash, carrots, cabbage, peas
Syns: gravy
I had planned a pork casserole but it as easier toget sausages out of freezer. Pork can wait until tomorrow.0
