Morning flyladies
I have lots I would like to get done today. I have two hours of the paid stuff at some point this morning (customer will be out at work and I have a key so I will pop up there around 10.30 I think).
I'm tackling something off my Toot's list today; some of the grout around the tiles on the bathroom windowsill has broken down, so I need to regrout it and put some silicone sealant around the plastic quadrant beading to stop the water getting back in and causing th same problem again. DH had offered to do it but I found him last night watching "how to grout" videos on YouTube. He's 49 years old and has never done it before -- I find this bizarre, I tiled and grouted my entire kitchen and bathroom in my old house. I'm a bit of a control freak so I've said I'll do it myself
I've decided to treat myself to an ereader with my Christmas money; DH watches a lot of sport which I have no interest in so I decided reading books would be much better use of my time than plittering about on t'internet. They have a nice little nook reduced at Arg0s :money: which gets good reviews so I've reserved one to collect later.
I also need to gather together all the games console carp which is littering the house. We have five children and they have:
2 xbox 360s
An xbox one
A wii
A PS2
A GameCube
A 3DS and
2 DS Lites
Not to mention the five laptops and three netbooks in the house -- it's ridiculous  Chargers will be confiscated until things are tidied into their respective homes.0 -
About to run and join you in your HHC, just the two of us. I'll start with the dishes.0
-
Just the two of us and MrsChaos I am ready to catch you up for your second HHC....the kitchen is a pit and my room isn't looking much better.
Back soon for a catch up and a brew! The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Thank youpigpen is been so long since the first I've forgotten it all, including the current four month sleep regression. She just doesn't want to sleep by herself.
Have cleared my bedroom floor and will go through some baby clothes to sort what is to find new homes and what is to keep.
Mine is exactly the same at the moment wanting to sleep on me or in my bed.. like everything else it is all a phase. She is such a lovely little thing though. She is fully boobed but I am a firm believer in doing what works best for your family and not have guilt about it, just glad that you now have options which weren't open to people not so many years ago. So long as they are fed appropriately and loved and warm does it really matter.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Go on then, skinty - you talked me into it. Dishes are done, but there's plenty of other stuff.0

Well it's still blowy here but the sun is out! Decs are all up in loft after being bagged / boxed and neatly stacked.
Lol DS is in a nark, told DD to get out of his room or he'll call the police :rotfl:
Need a shower now. Kids bathed and dressed. I need food too
I know it's excess water but I've dropped 2lb in two days since cutting out sugar and cutting back on other carbs. I've eaten plenty, and lots to drink. But feel lots less bloated and my ankles are not puffy now!Bossymoo

Good morning
Up with a start today when my alarm went off at 7am. DH is normally up by then & walking the dog but he was still asleep! The bins needed doing as well. He took the dog out while I did the bins.
The bad cat had managed to completely remove the lid to the food caddy in the kitchen to get at the turkey & sausage rolls that had been removed from the fridge  She had completely removed the lid, which had been locked down to stop her getting into it! The remains of the meat was in the hall & no sign of the sausage rolls! She had been aided & abetted by the dog when it had reached the floor. She won't have eaten much of it as she doesn't have any teeth!! The most annoying thing is that I only vaxed that carpet on Tuesday! Grrrr
Bins all out, & recycling, including the large am@z0n box which had been transformed into a sleigh!
DW emptied, washing up done. Need to put a chilli on for tea later.
Hugs, sticks & spoons where needed x0 -
Morning all,
Having a bit of a CBA morning. Had an argument with DS already - it was raining so I offered to drive and help with his paper round, but he said no. Then when I had no time left to help he played the poorly card & made me feel awful. He left so late that he didn't get back before I left for work & that always stresses me out for the whole day.
Hope your day improves. Kids need to learn the consequences of their decisions, you offered help, he choose not to take it. It is tough though I know. Mine plays the sick card tooDusty have you thought about one of those SAD lamps? I use mine every day it's not sunny from autumn til spring and it does help; DH got mine from Fleabay and it doesn't cost a lot - may be worth considering?
Thanks I have thought about it before but being a control freak I need to read up on all the different ones to make a choiceDH had offered to do it but I found him last night watching "how to grout" videos on YouTube. He's 49 years old and has never done it before -- I find this bizarre, I tiled and grouted my entire kitchen and bathroom in my old house. I'm a bit of a control freak so I've said I'll do it myself
There is nothing wrong with watching a video to learn how to do somethingHe now doesn't have the chance to see if he can do it, may be next time let him have a go or he'll be 59 and not ever done it
Window cleaners here so I'll do the insides once they are gone. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
just taken a teatray out to the guys fixing the holes in our road, nice surprise for them LOL DH works at jcb and one of the guys he gets on with had mentioned doing some work on our estate so he told me if a digger with that name on appeared to ring him and hed find out how they took their tea. They wondered what on earth he was asking for till i appeared with the drinks.
kitchen surfaces now all wiped down as are cupboard doors and the toaster has been decrumbed.
think ill sweep and mop in there then tackle the hall tree.
DH is always watching how to clips on youtube thats how my dyson and the xbox have lasted so long. there arent many things you cant learn by watching tutorials. i wouldnt be able to crochet if it werent for youtube.SPC~12 ot 124
