The Xmas decorations went back in their storage box on the 27th, that's when the parents went back home and the only reason I have a tree etc is for my mum :rotfl: both her OH and me would more than happily do without all that stuff (which I put up on the 23rd, about 2 hours before they arrived
)

The tree was put outside yesterday. The first time in years I'd bought a real one. It's a rooted one so should be ok for next year too.
I don't put many decs up, but what I had, came down yesterday too.
I started my Spring cleaning then too, all the nooks and crannies got a deep clean. I steam cleaned the ovens and kitchen floor.
today the sitting and dining room had a Spring clean and also did the kitchen cupboards.

Took mine down Christmas Day night about half 9ish, I have no idea why I'd just got fed up of looking at them and it was starting to bug me. Admittedly it was just the (artificial) tree and a few hanging directions, took much less than an hour to have them carefully put away.Princess Sparklepants0

I will keep them up until the 6th - I felt bad this year on my 9 year old son as we didn't put them up until right near Christmas due to decorating our front room!3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

We normally take them down on New Years Eve (don't take the old year into the new), but we took them all down today, mainly because DH and I were fed up of the mess everywhere.
I love having the spring clean when putting it all away.0 -
Ours went up about a fortnight ago and came down yesterday.
My friend keeps hers up until twelfth night, then it goes into the garden and gets hung with balls of fat for the birds, where it stays until November, when it is chopped up and put on the bonfire. How's that for recycling?
Mine's artificial, so can't do that, otherwise I would, I think it is a great idea.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Tree and lights will come down on New Years Day but I took all the other dec's down today as I was itching to clean up and de-clutter.This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0
