Hi to pozza_73, glad you like the thread. Good luck.
Thanks mothernerd, hope you also have "a great week".0 -
First, the plan was a series of gardening jobs and grocery/charity shop tasks:-
(1) Keep sowing seeds, collect anything edible from the garden, mow lawns, collect garden soil and sow strawberry/collard seeds in pots and update gardening plan regarding seeds sown. Consider a trip to the grave yard to take flowers/tidy up.
(2) Weekend grocery/charity shop early a.m. (reduced price items/quieter). Collect UHT milk when possible to delay an online order to keep in budget this month. So using up perishables etc. to enable this.
I then changed this to trying out a different lifestyle which probably reflects a need to improve how I have spent my life, or at least parts? Anyway, so far, I have been dealing with plan 1 (1+2 above)!
So I concentrated on the original plan which ended yesterday:-
(1) Made some progress with sowing seeds, collected edible salad bits from the garden, mowed lawns, indoor pot plant seeds (cabbage, sorrel and strawberry) situated in the warmest/brightest room and have kept updating garden plan records. I have not been to the graveyard yet. It would be nicer if an expected run of pleasant weather would make the floral displays last longer and hence look prettier.
(2) Yesterday, went out very early a.m. further afield by bicycle and obtained reduced price 39p cabbage (777gr) and 29p x 2 of cherry tomatoes (275gr x 2). Should have been £3.15. UHT milk was obtained mid week so no online order done and have "kept in budget". Using up perishables has been useful. Also, made a second trip out locally to a grocery shop/charity shop. Purchased three grocery items (cheaper per product size than main stores). The charity shop visit went well as I found a pair of trainer/boots for £6. They really do look hardly worn! Online, similar ones are £35 approx but originally £70.
Trying out "a different lifestyle" never really got started but yesterday, just changing my routine helped.0 -
Starting from today until end Saturday:-
Some continuing themes but also a "change routine around a bit" emphasis generally -
(1) End of month financial/personal challenges figures to calculate.
(2) Food related - online order (monthly UHT milk mainly), online health product needed and reduce using sweeteners for drinks/recipes.
(3) Sow more seeds and check composting information.
(4) Post indoor biking miles (exercise/losing weight challenge) and decide about next months aims for this.
(5) Make/send 1 or 2 thank you cards.
Good luck to any list-makers.0 -

Welcome SierraDelta87,
Hope your week goes well.0 -
Congratulations on the change in routine dannie. Remember lots of little changes can make a big difference, especially if done regularly. The grand plan is made up lots of tiny steps (like saying no to chocolate in my case).
Welcome SierraDelta87. I found this thread enormously helpful last year when I had health problems (currently 6 months into recovering from total hip replacement surgery). Need to focus more atm.
Knocked off course a little bit this week as DS2 is moving again and wants his washing machine ( a Christmas present he persuaded me to buy him) and my old fridge freezer back again. Spent Thursday emptying freezer contents into tall freezer (then rest), back to clean it (lowest two drawers a real struggle, only recently allowed to bend and still can't kneel or get down on the floor) and then part pulled out the washer to clean the top of that. About 9pm he phoned to say he was running out of time and would collect them Saturday.
Rested on Friday as no point trying to move things round in the kitchen until his things were gone so mainly put things I thought he might need (his airer, broom, mop and bucket, DS3's kettle) in the front room and moving things so that there was a clear path through (still awaiting collection of 4 pieces of equipment I was lent for use post-op) so it's not at all homely atm.
Also following the great sock hunt. DS3 did not have any clean socks to take to his gf's and wants to know where I have put them (because he never puts things away so it must be my fault). He's 25 by the way, still a work in progress (none of the things I did with the other two worked with him). So far have 7 pairs from ones found in the odd socks drawer (original place they were kept) the laundry basket (he said he had looked through) and a box in the bottom of his wardrobe (still not unpacked from November) plus dirty ones culled from the space at the side of his bed (s) - alternating between his regular one and the small spare in the front room (nowhere else for it to go yet) and dredged from under beds and wardrobes using a coathanger (as I can't get down on the floor). He had paid some money (4 weeks keep) into my account so I have sent for some new ones as well (size 12-14 so I can't get them at regular shops).
Hopefully by this evening I should be back on track (need to get bedding back on both the beds by tonight - had all the quilts and good pillows out on the line to air yesterday, not sure when he is coming home but will probably sleep for 24 hours when he does.
Decluttering is going well. I tried to do the one month challenge where you get rid of 1 item the first day, 2 the second etc. Was stuck on day 24 but have done day 25 and need three more things to get day 26 (that would be a total of 351 things gone) mostly to charity but some to sons and some to bin. I haven't counted most of the rubbish (keep reducing the number of embroidery patterns I have into the recycling). Anyway must get off here and do something. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Hi mothernerd and everybody,
Have had a busy week which ends tomorrow of the set tasks. Thanks for your message mothernerd. I have continued to change my routine this week. Will report back with weekly challenge results soon as possible.0 -

Good luck to any list-makers.
(1) Managed to stay in (grocery) budget. Using up "food stores", reductions and offers helped. Personal challenge figures were also updated.
(2) Online grocery order made but only sent 13 milk so short of what was needed. Health product purchased. Think I used even more sweeteners last week so will try again to reduce next week.
(3) More seeds were sown and the previously sown are appearing. Checked whether pencil lead can be composted.
(4) The "losing weight challenge" decision was made and then abandoned. I tend to think that "getting on with life" in the best way possible way should help that concern.
(5) One thank you card made so just 40p postage.
Changing the routine around a bit theme:-
(a) Tried to relax more indoors early a.m. instead of early indoor exercise. Alternatively, used the early morning hours to do the front gardening (quiet) or go on some cycling trips (nature-related) and collect any grocery reductions.
(b) Just sat in the sun and looked at the animal-life and growing plants from sown seeds.
(c) Money spent on food was "vegan" based (many were reductions, offers, via the online order and where possible the stores cheapest type).0
