January 2014- Take Your Lunch To Work Thread.

Last week was a good week until Thurs...
I wanted to surprise the boyf with a packed lunch (we don't live together but have lunch at least once a week) but I forgot to buy the lunch stuff so... I decided to treat him to a pizza express lunch with a voucher lunch (buy 1 get 1 free). Total bill: £23. That's more than I'd spend in a month! The boyf offered to get it but my pride said no before my head and wallet could speak!
So that's 11/20
Still, there's always next week! :T2014

Hello
My ltw plan is:
Mon: salad, hummus, crackers, cereal bar and fruit
Tues: hm veg soup, number, crackers and fruit
Weds: as above
Thurs: as above
Friday: sandwich and fruit
I would be very interested in the clean eating thread W2BSE. Where are you thinking of putting it? Hopefully it can go on food or old style. Thanks broke kitty, it sounds good. Would hm soup count as processed though?
B17c sorry you are feeling low. I was like that at the start of the month and it is hard to dig yourself out. Start small and try one manageable thing and then build up slowly... it does get better.
C4annyq... Going to pizza express is a very sweet thing to do and sometime you have to go all out for romance and be spontaneous... Think of all the brownie points you have stored up now!
Happy Monday eve everyone!0 -
It was cheese sandwich because I didn't have anything else, though. If I'd chosen to have cheese sandwich it would have been great!
This is Crumble with her packed lunch
OOOOOOH SHE'S SO GORGEOUS!! :j:j I have pet cockatiels too - I absolutely adore cockatiels, the best birds ever. ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤0 -
Meanwhile, I took spiced lentil and onions to work today (cost about 40p), which was yummy, and brings me to 9 out of 18.0

Morning my lovely LTW'ers! Another day another dollar!
Why do Mondays come around so fast, yet it take ages to get to Friday??
Oh well, no point in me moaning! Lets face the week ahead with positivity!
I have my sausage roll and fruit ready. Glad to hear you all are ready for the week!
I am off to work now, but will be back later this afternoon. Will also start up the Clean Eating thread too. If anyone can provide me with any links or other info to put on the CE thread, please PM them to me, i'd be very grateful
Have a great Monday!0 -

Morning! I too am a fellow clean eater. Will send you some links on my lunch hour of places I go for recipe ideas. Will help to take my mind off the fact I have forgotten my lunch today and have no purse! Don't feel too sorry for me though I do have morning and afternoon snacks and some overnight oats that can be my lunchPay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0 -

I made a batch of lentil and bacon soup in the slow cooker for our lunches this week. It smells lovely. Hope it tastes lovely too as it is the first time I have made it. I am having mien with some chili and lentil bread rolls I bought at a GF food fair.
I also have AGCJ peanut butter granola for breakfast and some home made chocolate buns along with the usual fruit and mu11er rice.
I managed to pick up 8 YS GF rolls for £1.08 in Sains on friday so that will be me on sandwiches for the next 2 weeks

Afternoon all
Day 13 well under way for me now
WTBSE, I tried out the chickpea burger recipe yesterday and it's lovely. Okay, it's not falafel but seeing as I fail miserably at it this is a great, and cheap alternative. I was very impressed and will make it again (http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2013/nov/20/jack-monroe-chickpea-chorizo-burger-recipe)
Today's breakfast was the usual, I've just munched my lunch of a chickpea burger crumbled into a wholemeal pitta, and a splodge of sweet chilli mayo dolloped inside. Yuumm... I have a banana calling my name right now but I'll hold fire until after my meeting that starts in 10 mins, as I ate lunch quite early today (having a hungry day) and I'll be raiding the vending machine if I don't slow myself downApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
