Hi, I was wondering if anybody had tried the Duinrell site in Holland with the Sun Holidays. If so what was it like? Any tips?. It looks pretty good on Tripadvisor. The only think that concerns me that with all the European Holidays - Oct (only £9.50) or 30 May, 6,9,13 June (only £15). However I want to go for May half term Friday May 23rd - and this is not listed, do I assume this date is not available. I find this strange as all European holidays only have these dates listed, however I did the half term week with the sun deal 2 years ago in France. Has any one got any ideas?0

Sorry, just read thanks!
Im mega confused tho. Is the £9.50 price for the eurorail and the park stay?
If I just travel and book hotel would that be ok?0 -
wasnt on last time the sun holidays came out was the code cracked or did everyone have to wait for the last code to come out?“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr Seuss

Hi guys was hoping to book Craig Tara but go half board, which we did a few years ago. But it looks like no Scottish sites do half board holidays anymore  We went a few years back and it was well worth the money paying for the half board. Saved massively on the cost of eating out.
Ok I can answer this myself nowContacted Haven on their Facebook page. They replied very quickly saying that all their parks are now fully self-catering.

Um, what hotel?
The accommodation in the parks included in the Sun holiday deals is mostly caravans. And some of the European ones are even tents. We were in a tent when we went to Italy.
No the £9.50 does not include the Eurorail. As mentioned in previous posts on Disneyland Paris parks, travel costs are over and above the £9.50 per person charge. You will therefore need to still pay for the ferry or Euro Tunnel.
The £9.50 per person is only for the accommodation. You have to pay for a minimum of 4 people at £9.50 each (or £15 per person for some dates) when making your booking.
The park that you are staying at will then invoice you for any extras such as the daily service charge and/or entertainment passes for UK parks. European parks don't have a service charge or fee for entertainment passes (mostly because there is no entertainment at these parks). However, some parks, such as La Croix du VP, do charge extra for linen.
There is also a tourist tax payable per person for the European parks. You will only know how much tax is payable when you receive your invoice from the park / travel operator.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Hi I have done Duinrell 3 times before , twice with daily mail and once with Sun- its a fantastic fantastic amazing place!!! I have been waiting for this Sun deal to go live so I could book it again this year (I can only afford to do it through Sun/Daily Mail deals) and was soooo disappointed to find it has such limited dates this year. Working in education I am completely limited to school hols- Easter isn't included, nor May half term. The only date I will be able to go is first May bank hol.
I also noticed that every European park this time doesn't start its available dates till 25th April- like you I have been in the May half term so not sure why this is the case this year? Only thing I could think was were the European parks not opening before 25th April? I know some don't open till Spring time but surely not this late? Or maybe they just need to fill spaces during the Easter hols?
Back to Duinrell though- it really is a great place, esp with children. I have 2 boys, 5 and 9 and they love it! most rides and activities are perfect for them (although the little one last year was too short for the rollercoasters but could do ething else)- they are quite strict on there 1.2m height restriction. The water park is great! You can walk to and from the water park and theme park and your mobile home (so go back for lunch). The mobile homes are lovely and clean, (Ikea style!)
There is not much in way of evening entertainment- the mobile homes have no tv in them, but to be honest, this is why we love it so much- we go, we spend all day out having fun, we come back we eat, we spend time as a family, children are exhausted, we crash out!! lol!
Food there is abit pricey, but the local town is very pretty and picturesque with a good supermarket, we self cater most of the time. (full sized fridge freezer too!)
Have I sold it to you?? :-) it is my most favourite European "caravan park" destination - can you tell??!!
Just v disappointed I cant book it over Easter this year!!0 -

Thanks for that info. I've had my eye on Duinrell for a while and was also gonna try to get Easter or May half term. Can I ask you where does it say it won't be available for those dates? The only info I can find is the dates when you pay no service charge, but it doesn't seem to say you can't go the other dates? Thanks0 -
I am also getting very confused by the dates listed in the priority booking brochure. At first glance, it looks like May half term is not included by if you read the brochure fully then you see it is ???
The brochure also seems to suggst that only 3 or 4 night stays are available, but an earlier post suggests once the website opens then 7 night stays are possible.
As for Duinrell, I can only echo branston's comments. We have been twice (both with the Sun/Daily Mail offers) and the kids (now 7 and 10) love it. Couldn't believe the quality of the 'free' onsite theme park and water park the first time we went. However, unlike branston, both times we have been our caravan did have a TV
We are tempted to go back to Duinrell this time (after a 2-3 year break). But the OH also wants to try Altomincio Family Park (Lake Garda) but I am wary of driving all that way (and not sure about flying and not having a car for the week). Last year we did one of the sites in Brittany which, though nice, was a 7-8 hour drive ... never again. Croix Du Vieux Pont looks very intriguing, gets very good reviews on Trip Advisor and is close enough to DLP to make that a viable day trip. Decisions, decisions ....0 -

This is what I was wondering . The leaflet is not very clear. My reading of it is that the dates they say " pay only 9.50 " or "pay only £15 " , means on those dates there are no service charges , but that there will be other dates available ( not specifically listed ) that will have breaks available bit for which you have to pay the service charge ?
Does anyone else agree ?
( it could also be read that the dates they have printed are the ONLY dates you can go on a European hol, and that even on those dates the service charges apply , but I don't think that is what is intended ? )
What has been the position in the past . Have there been other weeks in say early to mid april, or in late June/ early July when you have been able to go to a European one ?
Been on loads of these but never to Europe, so never paid much attention to those before.
Thanks0 -
