XSpender - would Mr Spender have crumpets or wholemeal toast for breakfast? It's really filling if he adds that to his banana and would mean he wasn't as hungry later on.
You can snack on healthy things too - I have a popcorn addiction because it's relatively low fat but feels like a treat
He would Moomin if he could get his arrass out of bed a bit earlier as he loves crumpets. If I made it for him he would probably eat it if he had time but it is adding another job to my morning list. I quite often toast a bagel and take it in foil to work which he could do too.
I might try toast and marmite tomorrrow and see how we get on.:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

mooomin - don't go. I have haven't stuck to the NSD rules either - my kids do activities between them on 4 days of the week, I can't do a grocery shop on those days as I am obviously with them and they are too young to be going with me afterwards as it would be just too late for bed.
The NSD figure I show in my sig ignores all the kids activities and all direct debits as this money is all budgeted for and will be spent over the month regardless. What I wanted to do and my reason for joining was to cut down on all the other unnecessary, not budgeted for spending and that is what I have done.
All the other rules have been stuck to.
Hugs to people falling over. Hoping that pets are on the mend too.
Thanks for this Dolly84. I think of it as not spending unecessarily. The childrens groups I don't count because as I said before they are allocated but things like shopping and petrol I do count.
I got myself in to a right state about it a few months ago and felt like a failure so I've decided just to tweak it to work for me.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Purplejay, do you have a Waitrose near you? Declaring SFD 8 today - I've been to the Boots sale and got a couple of bits with my points, then went to Asda (because Mr Mooo ate all the bread AGAIN!) but paid with a gift card so no cash has left my sweaty wee paws today
I'm going to the pictures tonight but will take my own popcorn and have a cinema pass which is paid for by direct debit anyway. I get paid on Friday so declared for the Grocery Challenge - a whopping £40.77 under budget (£225 for my December/January pay period) which has been sent off as a mortgage overpayment today :j
I've booked flights today for my holiday but my brother is paying for them (my Christmas present) and I've managed to collect £2 cashback on them and about 400 Tesco points0 -
Good afternoon everyone!
Today it has been an expensive day for me I am afraid!
We bought our family ski holiday and we are away in a couple of days! However, the money for this trip is being paid from our last year's saving. Even though I already bought most of the ski gear at Aldi remember? There were a few things we still needed to get and today we bought the rest of what we needed for this trip, so I spent, £ 150 on that! Brrrr
Ahhh! I have not been drinking! I am walking than using car or the bus! I feel so good!
Sending you all positive vibes!!!No debts 🙌0 -

Sorry to hear about your dad, his missus
Sorry just have to share a comment OH made. So he borrowed 150 quid because he over spend on christmas. I told him today we will soon get the money back from when the nursery was closed over the holidays. OH said let's get take away then...erm, no. First I don't have the money yet, plus it will be used to compensate for the overspend. Mmmhh, ok, he said quietly, you're right.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
his missus so sorry to hear about your dad. Sending you lots of TLC and hugs:grouphug:.
PhoeniX yes, I've popped a few pills today! The pupils didn't bat an eyelid at Miss carrying a (microwavable) polar bear and both standing, walking and sitting with it on her back! Says a lot for how weird they must think I am...!
Made a true NSK rules NSD today. Number 9. Also number 14 of no grains or sugar.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

ThanksThanks to NSK too! I'll keep posting and keep counting "my" SFDs too as it's really helped me to focus on the frittering away of money on things I don't need and stopped me going to the supermarket almost every day too! I'm up to 7 now which is almost a record for me. I might not make 20, but I'm definitely aiming for at least 15
I very rarely make the full quota of SFDs Mooomin, but having that to aim for makes me get pretty close, a lot closer than I would without it.
Speaking of SFDs today is a bonus one, as a friend I was meeting for dinner has cancelled. Not all good though, he's not well, so hopefully will get better soon. I've told him to go to the doctors.
Yesterday was a spendy day as I had to get the tyre on my car replacedNot as expensive as I feared though £42, so less than a tank of petrol and there was money enough in the dedicated car account to cover it :T It does always feel good when my financial planning pays off and I don't have to worry about the odd extra expense.
