Gooood Morning,
first proper day at work and actually enjoying it. Was well overdressed this morning though as it's like spring. Will definitely cycle from tomorrow though if bumb allows.
Went to the bank and paid in my leftover Euros (only got £56 for E75, but def wouldn't need them till 2015 and it's money in my savings).
Updated my signature and realised today is only SFD number 4 rather than 5 as we went shopping on Friday and Saturday.
Oh we got our 1% pay increase this month, woohoo. Well, better than nothing and it's still about 15 quid a month and we should get the back-pay in January from August so there should be another £60 quid coming my way.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
I have also looked up the cost of renewing the insurance for my £400 car on a comparison site and have managed to find a deal with my current insurer for £145! _party_ _party_. I am not one to just click and buy, I much prefer discussing my cover with a call taker just to make sure nothing has been missed and there is no risk of invalidating my insurance. However, since I own a mobile phone and its an 0800 number I will call from my friend's landline next month, closer to the renewal date
. A £120 saving is not to be sniffed at, so all I ask is that my trusty rusty l:heart2:vable charabanc will last me a good while yet :A
I think if you call a 0800 from your mobile you get an automated message where they give you an alternative free number. Saves you waiting, but if your renewal isn't for a month that's probably not a big deal.NinjaSavingKat wrote: »Billy-Jo, Catriona79, EmilyTee and Happybunny86 you all have numbers and may I apologise if you are in a different order, were overlooked, were named but no numbered and not welcomes be me! Quick recipe cause it's amazing...
1 cup red lentils / 2 cups water = boil until they are mushed.
3 tablespoons of tahini
5 tablespoons of oil ( I used grapeseed)
1/4 cup of lemon juice,
2-3 cloves of garlic.
Salt / Pepper and Cayene Pepper to taste.
Blend with a hand blender thing that you would use for soup.:T
I get a 2kg bag of red lentils - it does for soupt ( carrot / parship and lots of pepper with red lentils and a little stock )...
Anyone got anything else I can do with red lentils..?“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. How about Tarka dal, spicy bean balls (beans and lentils) or mercimek koftesi (red lentil balls)....DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Right bits of work to do - sorry if I have missed anyone's questions but to clarify - any down-shift counts including fizzy water, and any exercise counts including lifting heavy boxes for hours...:T:T:T
Thanks Kat, I can include the running around I do at work! Not every shift, just the ones where I've been super active.
Also going to try to do a bit of Jillian Michaels later.
Spend day today ( my first one, seems a shame!) need food from M*rrisons, pens for work and I need a loaf tin and mixing bowl so shall check the charity shops, so shall update later on when I know how much I've spent :TCredit Card Debt:[STRIKE]£12991[/STRIKE] £12526

Yeah! Woo!
The swot that I am I have clocked up 4 SFD already (if i include today, which will be kept to!)
But . . . I probably belong on the naughty step because I went and bought a new laptop over the break . . . an apple one  But in my defence, bought with cash (due to some money I came into late last year) and given the last one lasted 7 years both necessary and worthwhile investment. That's my story I'm sticking to it!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -

Thanks KarmaChi, I did give my insurers a call to begin with and after 3 minutes of pressing options and waiting, I eventually spoke to a call taker and asked him to call me back to save me moneyand after all that, he said I couldnt be given a quote until the 19th anyway! :rotfl:
Any hoo, I have just returned from my 90 minute personal review at le bank with a hurty knee from all this walking Ive been doing
So, today's visit at the bank with the view to opening a savings account was quite a peculiar experience..
20 months ago before my , I was sat in the very same room, sheepishly asking for yet another (!) loan.. The loan was granted, but with the condition that my £6000 credit card limit was reduced to £500. I remember walking away from the bank feeling rubbish that I had to borrow money in the first place, angry with myself for being in this situation and angry with the bank for viewing me as a risk by reducing my credit cardI haven't touched that credit card to this day..
After being on automatic pilot with a mission for so long, I hadnt really given my debt busting journey much thought. But somehow being in that room today, asking the bank to look after my money in a savings account and give me money from interest rates (as opposed to me asking to borrow and pay them interest).. I felt quite emotional about it allIm sure I even saw a tear in the bank managers eye at one point
I left the bank without a high interest savings account because to complete that today would have ruined a SFD! And Im not losing SFDs for love nor money! :rotfl:
Onwards!
