Hello Everyone!
It has been spendy day here for me! I had a £50 book vouchers but I went over by £20, my laptop is not working so I took it to be repair and I paid in advance £60! ouch!! I am actually very tired and about to sleep because I have been out most of the day and I walked a lot, so I guess that count as exercising? :-)
Anyway, I wrote to university enquiring about the Masters programme and they sent me an application pack! I am actually rearing to start this course but I keep changing my research topic!
Sending all positive regards,No debts 🙌0 -
I managed to fit my exercise in this afternoon after all by heading to the local shopping centre and taking a brisk walk around indoors
I did pick up a recipe book as a Christmas present (used a giftcard, no cost to me) and a new coin purse for my bus fares (used Boots points, no cost to me) but maintained my SFD. I'm not going to be including my bus fares as spends as I have to get to work somehow and paying for the fares individually will work out cheaper than a monthly pass when I go down to four days. I've got a load of change put aside for bus fares anyway - it costs £3.50 for a day ticket (unlimited travel) or £1.50 for a single, so on the days where I don't get a day ticket I will add the extra 50p to my sealed pot.0 -
Just under £20 spent on food today, over a tenner on fruit:eek: that will last until about Thursday when I will do the following weeks shop. I have spent just under £45 on food so far including £2.50 I owed the bin cleaner man. This is very low for us but I am a bit concerned I have under budgeted how much we will need.:(. I haven't bought any extras but will try Aldeee next week to see if I can keep the costs low.
No down shifting opportunities as all was basic or supermarket brand.
Planning to exercise (walk) Saturday and Sunday and hopefully clock up 2 SFD. I am aiming for 4 in a tow from Monday:)
I am determined to still have £500 in my current account to transfer to savings at the end of the month.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Hey all
Spendy day here, but hopefully we got the whole week's spends in one day - weekly shop, cat bits, a new electric razor for DH as his has died and not matter how MSE a beard is he won't be convinced! and a down jacket for me in the sales as I suffer from the cold and have been hankering after one for years. On the plus side, the cc we paid off in dec was overpaid and so when we rung to close the account today we got £70 back!
No exercise either as back is really bad (seems like there's a few of us today like this) so bit of a fail day. Plus ate more coffee cake and some choccies.
Man, I feel like a failure now.
Going to shuffle off and have a word with myself.

NSD2 achieved as dd told me that no way were we going out in this weather! Especially when her cousin is staying here! So much playing, some tv, and much more playing filled the day! At her age she's so not aware that this is her last day of freedom!
I got a workout in before dd woke up, and have maintained my sugar and grain free run. In the past, day 4 has been more relaxed (and my downfall!), but I'm going for 5 in a row this time. I got a present knitted, stuffed, sewn and embroidered all in one day, so well chuffed.
Tomorrow is a spend day - isn't it easier to maintain NSDs when the spend days are planned? - as dd goes to ballet and fees are due for the month, so I'll also go to the post office and charity shops and coop for reduced gf foods. Tho if it's pelting down I may just take a book to read...!
The exercise part of the challenge seems to have really inspired people again - well chosen kat:T:TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well my vertical wall planner is stickered up with an array of different shaped and coloured stickers so I can see dates to remember at a glance
I love it! I should have done this years ago!
I have spent the last couple of hours looking at my Statement of Affairs for the forthcoming year and have made generous budgets for necessities such as car maintenance (tax/insurance/MOT/service), birthday and Xmas cards/presents, Dentist and hygienist appointments, an eye test and 4 haircuts.
I have estimated that the monthly cost to cover these expenses is £130 so I will set up a direct debit come pay day to transfer that money into my disused savings account. I will use my current account for everyday expenses such as food/fuel/leisure and miscellany and I will look to open some kind of high interest account to squirrel emergency savings once Ive researched which account offers the best interest rate.
I am also wondering whether to look at cashback credit cards.. I would clear the bill immediately but will at least get some kind of return from my spending. My current credit card (which has been on ice for the last 18 months :A) offers a points system on each spend but quite frankly I get more returns from using a Te$co clubcard :rotfl:
With the day drawing to a close I can confidently declare my third SFD! :T My little black book is looking rather dull without my colourfully highlighted spends! :rotfl:
Still havent done any exercise! If theres no money to be made from my use of energy Im not interested

Well 2nd NSD today as I only visited my mum for free eggs
. I've decided my targets are all so large that I need to tackle them one at a time. My plan is to pay £200 towards debt a month and then pay into one savings target at a time as well as my normal savings pots. My first is £57 for my DS's swimming lessons but I only need £13.16 to go :j. I'll then save for my DD's christening in February, holiday, bathroom refurb, kids birthdays and christmas.
As my debt is 0% interest until September at least I feel my priorities are my savings pots so I don't get into more debt. Is that ok NSK??????

G'day Everyone and Happy Friday!! :j
3 Sfds For me now- hooray!
No exercise again today- this will change over the weekend.
Also, I am hoping to get signed up for a 10k run for May time, so will discuss with friend's and may try and get signed up over this weekend. Will see if I can move some money about to accommodate this as the registration fee is: £15. Will be an excellent motivator regarding fitness! I just need to think about who my chosen charity will be this time around. I haven't competed in a charity run for about 4 years! (Just a little unfit!)
My OH was meant to be returning from his trip away on Sunday at about 1pm, looks like he messed up the flight times as it turns out he won't be back until 9pm! It will be 10 days since I last saw him, so I am superbly disappointed, as had been looking forward to having a least half the day with him.So, I have arranged to spend the day with one of my girlfriend's instead! :T
Feel I need to use tomorrow productively, not sure what to do...
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
Thrifty - Sorry to hear about the extra expenses! I'm sure you'll balance it out some how!
Also get well soon to all Human bean's and animal family members who are feeling poorly at the moment! xx:coffee:

Hi All,
Just a couple of things to report today:
Another SFD so sitting at 2/20. Will need to put fuel in the car over the weekend so need to check / plan any other spends for the same day.
Took lunch to work again today so now at 2/22. I started taking lunch to work from Jan 2013 but must admit I do fall down on occasions as we have a great subsidised restaurant at work and they list the menu weekly so if I see something nice I have been known to 'forget' to make my lunch
On the plus side I have stopped buying drinks from the deli bar and drink free hot water from the water machine all day. Much healthier and also much more :money:
Not really sure I will be able to achieve the exercise target as I suffer from fatigue due to MS. I do however walk the dogs regularly so maybe that's OK.
Still trying to work out total debt and DFD. Will work on this over the weekend and update signature when done.
Hope everyone has a great weekend,
Chez xThat money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"0
