Hello everybody,
sorry not been on here for a while, but just don't seem to get the time lately, the days seem to fly by......
So far this month hasn't been brilliant, gone way over on my other budget = dentist, prescriptions and Ive signed up to a dating website!!!
EEk,scary although it was half its usual price, fed up with being the spinster of the parish..... Although not a lot happened yet.
I have done 4 bank shifts so should get about £450 after stoppages all to go towards overpaying the mortgage. My friend has given me another payment towards the loan I gave her, although sadly her dad died last week. So Ive been up and down to see her so petrol costs up but hey in the grand scheme of things, does it matter, plus its a year tomorrow since her mum passed away.
Got a few sale bits for presents later on in the year as well as my own body weight in xmas cards and wrapping paper. Smacked hand from NSK (No entering sales) ;-)
Anyhow got an hour to go before leave for the nightshift, best go get my tea. TTFN xxxHalifax CC All paid Mort £7669.99,Car loan 31 months to go

Kat, my old flatmate used to have nightmares - I'd always sleep with one ear open in fear of her hurting herself!
My parking fine has been dropped :j Hurrah! Seems honesty was the best policy after all!
Managed, reluctantly, to resist the temptation of a night out tonight - really really really wanted to go but I have no money to spare and also I have a yoga workshop booked for later which couldn't be refunded - yoga it is then!
Are there any maternity employment experts among us? My niece is pregnant and is being virtually forced out of work onto benefits. She wants to keep working (she's a grafter!) but I think she's been really unfairly treated and wondered if any of you know much and wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction?
Other than that, I don't have much to report. Early dinner for me due to much yogaing tonight (tofu with broccoli, asparagus and sugar snap peas if anyone's interested). Oh, and I applied for a First Direct Current Account this afternoon as well - hoping it all goes through so I can claim the £250 interest free overdraft and the £100 opening incentive.
Oh, and I found (whilst digging out my tax return paperwork) a voucher for a day at a posh local spa for two. Great - my niece is coming to visit in a few weeksA free day out :j
I still have my dreaded tax return to do but that's been postponed for another day!
Hi, speak to someone at a Citizens Advice Bureau asap-I wish her luck
It was like pulling teeth getting 4.30pm to come at work today! I felt sooo tired. Today as earlier was predicted! A bag of apples for a crumble, box of icing sugar to ice cup cake and a bottle of feel good non alcoholic mojito that was reduced to half price as a treat for me from tesc0.
Tomorrow will probably be a spendy day. I'm going to do my upmost not to be a lazy moo and take the little fella for our tour of London on the 19 bus :rotfl: Have a great start to the weekend everyone :T:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -

Congratulations Abundant
It's paydayand I've now paid off exactly 15% of my debt :T
Although I have to admit I'm a little deflatedI worked really hard in the last month, doing two extra jobs to bring in extra money but have overspent, mainly due to unexpectedly needing new tyres, and have leant OH quite a bit of money so my ccard went up. So when I made my payday payment today, it barely changed the total
OH is paying me back over the next two months (fingers crossed!) so it should go down but was hoping to see a huge drop this month. By the way, I realise how daft this sounds!
In less silly ramblings... Today is SFD number 15Took lunch to work, no alcohol, no chocolate but also no exercise due to the weather.

Morning all
Missed my SFD yesterday as I was so tired and cranky by the time I got home from work I ordered pizzaI had money in Paypal though so it "only" cost £6.50 of real money. Still, very naughty of me.
SFDs will be in short supply next week as I have a number of things on including three dinners out  Two were planned and I have tickets to a gig on Tuesday in another town. It now turns out I'm working there on Tuesday during the day so am meeting a friend for dinner while I wait for Mr Mooo to drive through for the gig. So I'll be over budget on fun too :rotfl:
Spend day today will be on groceries - just about to run and make a list so I will aim to keep it under £20. I need to do my food bank donation as well - does anyone know of a non-religious one I can donate to online?0 -
morning all :j
sfd planned for todayoff to gym shortly for combat class and swim then free day
going to do cleaning and batch cook sas casserole (slow cooker), thai curry and l&p soup (using last of home grown leeks).
have checked banking and cheque i paid in yest for mystery shopping has cleared so transferred money to debt acc  have now got £738 in there ready for dad although need to keep £10 of that for my bank acc few which comes out on 30th. its a slight possibility that i may get one more mystery shopping payment by 31st of £30 which would be great as would mean a £750 payment to dad :money:
dfd will not be aprilbut i always knew that would be too ambitious. dfd now 20th may so not too much later. then will save for holiday so will be lovely to pay for holiday in full
dont think i will bother with mr s again as i noticed quite a few bits i bought were much more expensive than tesco, mr m and aldiesp the meat as none i needed was in the £3 for £10 offer so i ended up buying value meat which was more than aldi normal meat
i got £8 off £40 shop and spent £45 after discount. but i have enough toilet roll, clothes washing liquid and washing up liquid for about 3 months and 2 months worth of coffee so only really need fresh stuff now. with the £8 off the shop was probably on parr with mr m or mr t and they are more convenient to get to
in future i will do one monthly shop on pay weekend at aldi to get all tins and meat for the month then onto tesco for the rest then will weekly shop at mr m. i think the ys bargains i normally get will bring the weekly shop in at around similar price to aldi. as i only shop for me i dont save that much by going to aldi and its too much faff as they always seem to sell out of stuff and then i need to go elsewhere.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Yesterday I was annoyed wih myself for stopping off to buy milk on the way home (although I parked ina side street so avoided paying for he parking) as onc e I was home, I realised I'd prob be out and about with dd over the w/end, so could have got it then.
However, she's fighting off a cold and just wants to stay in today, so maybe it wasn't a waste after all! She woke up much earlier than usual - grrr! - and we've already started construction of the ice castle from Frozen. She's now engrossed in her Polly Pockets (the little one - vintage?) so I can crack on with knitting.
I offeed to make her some cakes or biscuits for her packed lunches but she said that she was ok with the pet1t filous i put in, so that's saved me a job, albeit one I enjoy.
I spent an enjoyable 30 mins yesterday planning Feb, trying to second-guess NSK's challenges! The plans will still need refining, and adding to according to half term commitments, but the outline is there.
The snowdrops are poking through, as are the crocuses and daffs. And creme eggs are in the shops. Spring will not be far behind...! And just 3 days til payday :j !NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Ooo, exciting Roseicheeksblossom – good luck with the internet dating! Mr Tiptoes and I met through internet dating, and we were each other’s first date (either we were very lucky, very well matched, or both settle very easily!!) We both joke how we were annoyed we both paid 6 months fee up front tho, what a waste of money… not really, he is worth every penny and more (just in case he is reading this..!)
Applemuncher – what a cheery post – spring being in the air and all – thank you. I cannot wait! Still suffering with this rotten cold but grateful for a weekend with nothing to do but curl up with cats on the sofa.
SFD yesterday and a bonus lovely meal out in the evening paid for by friends who owed us a favour. Very nice.
Pretty proud of all my totals so far this month apart from exercise. And I have to accept that being ill is to blame for this so there is nothing I can do but relax and get well. I am desperate to pay off another whole cc by the end of Feb when the 0% runs out, and we just might do it as this rate… despite having to book hotels for events we have to go to, and DH wanting a new computer screen, and other random unforseens. We will then be down to 3 cc’s and a loan, from 6 cc’s, a loan and an overdraft when we started in Sept. I know we are paying the smallest off first so it looks better than it actually is, but it’s cheering me up!

Argh argh NOOOOOOO! After my post last night about how much we paid off the figure is actually wrong
DH informs me that not only he has another card he "forgot about" but also his DFD will be November instead of August.
We have paid off a total of £1,491.47 leaving us with £1,608.93 to pay off.
He was getting all down about it but i said in the scheme of things it is really not that much and we are doing all the right things by having them at 0%. He then tells me about his overdraft, he doesn't know how OD he is
I then procced to suggest he does himself a budget for the month but he says that is impossible due to the fact he is always buying petrol, he hasn't had an LBM yet so i don't want to push it, I just feel like I am doing this on my own for the greater good and although he is aware of his debts he is prepared to make any other cutbacks.
As it stands my debt is £332.93 and i aim to have that paid by March.
