Hope you all have a good day and Kat hope youve recovered from your nightmare!
I kinda feel stupid for mentioning it now but it's left me feeling out of sorts today! Ha!
Glad you are getting rid of the OD though! Should be a weight off your mind!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Kat I'm not surprised you feel out of sorts after your 3 a.m ordeal! Poor you and Mog waking up with a start  Hopefully you'll be moving on to a better and quieter place soon!
Indeed I am looking forward to debt freedom after 20 years of debt! In a strange kind of way, I am glad to have gone through this journey and to have learnt the skills to build a richer life in more ways than one :ANinja Saving Turtle

Hmmm i had to use my active CC for my speed awareness course which was £84. I paid £42 off it this morning but I am wondering whether I should slam the £50 I did OT for onto it instead of the 0% credit card which would mean my overall DFD changes :-/ its not a 0% on purchases card btw!
I pay £26 a month into my balance transfer card anyway but my OT money gets slammed onto it additionally, can someone advise me please?Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Hi Everyone, been missing for a while, still slightly out of sorts, lol. Well I'm glad it's Friday and am counting down the hours to going home! I have not spent anything since I have been on and doing brisk walks each day. Today I will spend however, I need to get icing sugar. My home baking has been a hit with the kids so it saves money in the long run
Well I'd better get back to work and so cannot wait till next friday-payday. I'm excited to see how much i'll get as I'll have 2 weeks at 25 hours and 3 at 36. By the time my union and pension fees have come out of it who knows how much i'll be left with, lol.
Take care everyone and keep going :T:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Hi all, been mia for a few days
This week has been a bit of a write off as have bought a few treats from the work shopeaten lots of sugar and not much exercise
back on it now (except the cake I just ate that a colleague made!):p
So I have booked my holiday :j:j:j paid the £49 flight deposit on debit card so no fees (atol protected anyway) and £150 deposit for our tour on cc as wasn't sure of the protection. Bill hasn't generated yet so I may use the money I saved for it for debt repayment this month and pay it next month. Means I can pay dad about £700 on 31st :T
Will be going to Mr s tonight for big food shop using £8 off £40 spend. Think I'm going to restart doing weekly shop in Mr m instead of aldi as I'm sick of them running out of stuff I need. As I only do small weekly shops I don't think it will cost me much more (plus Mr m have great ys bargains on Fridays after work):j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
NSK - yes the fee for transferring the £5900 was the same as two months interest so it means we get 22 months 0% if you take the fee into account. It just gives us some breathing space to pay off other things then tackle that before the 2 years is up. Alas this is nowhere near all of our debt but was the most I could transfer.
We didn't change the card to joint names there was no facility that I could see online to do that and when DH rang he got an indian woman and it was like pulling teeth getting any information so he called it a day (all we really wanted to know was the credit limit so we could register for online banking) and that took forever with her.
Have been to the bank today as it is payday and have withdrawn all the cash we need for kids activities, kids spending money and entertainment money, I miscalculated and ended up with £4.80 less than we need so we will see how we go on. All money allocated to debts has been paid now and I am hoping we will have some extra from the grocery budget to add to that.
We are going for a day out tomorrow, we have tickets to a museum which are valid for one year from purchase and we didn't get around it all last time, we are using our last £5 to pay for the park and ride (rare bus ride for the kids), taking a packed lunch, one flask of coffee and one flask of hot chocolate for the kids with some marshmallows we have from Christmas to put in.
All my AVON orders are packed up and I will deliver tonight, have had a good month this time and will have £63 I think from that.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Evening all
Kat, my old flatmate used to have nightmares - I'd always sleep with one ear open in fear of her hurting herself!
My parking fine has been dropped :j Hurrah! Seems honesty was the best policy after all!
Managed, reluctantly, to resist the temptation of a night out tonight - really really really wanted to go but I have no money to spare and also I have a yoga workshop booked for later which couldn't be refunded - yoga it is then!
Are there any maternity employment experts among us? My niece is pregnant and is being virtually forced out of work onto benefits. She wants to keep working (she's a grafter!) but I think she's been really unfairly treated and wondered if any of you know much and wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction?
Other than that, I don't have much to report. Early dinner for me due to much yogaing tonight (tofu with broccoli, asparagus and sugar snap peas if anyone's interested). Oh, and I applied for a First Direct Current Account this afternoon as well - hoping it all goes through so I can claim the £250 interest free overdraft and the £100 opening incentive.
Oh, and I found (whilst digging out my tax return paperwork) a voucher for a day at a posh local spa for two. Great - my niece is coming to visit in a few weeksA free day out :j
I still have my dreaded tax return to do but that's been postponed for another day!0 -
Also, whilst I'm asking for experts, does anyone know if a mortgage company frowns upon a borrower who takes a permitted payment holiday. For example, if a three month payment holiday can be taken each year, are there consequences (apart from the borrowed amount going up and the monthly payments changing).0

It'sssssss HERE! At Last! Friday my fine and elusive Friend! :j
Clippy - Exciting news about your holibob!!
Dolly - Great move with the cards!
Abundant - Super news on the payrise!! :T
17 Sfds :j Hoping my fuel will last until Tuesday (Pay day!)
Hoping I also won't have to pay for parking tomorrow- going on a hunt for side streets near the hospital (the pay and display is extortinate!) as I have an appointment.
For Christmas I was given money for an annual zoo pass for my local zoo, so will hopefully be able to get that sorted tomorrow. Looking forward to the free days out, as it is unlimited admission and it is a big zoo! :T
Happy weekend all x:coffee:
