3.5 mile walk instead of a run today as I rushed out without my knee support and soon started to suffer after 5 minutes. Booo.

    Acquired 100 nect@r points on adp0ints today :)

Finding posting on my mobile somewhat troublesome so shall leave it there for tonight!

    See you all on Friday!

Evening everyone :) I just got back from an overnight visit with some friends...with cash left in my purse :j Had a fab time, and had the money set aside, but my food and misc budgets are fairly close to zero - plus I have a major unplanned expense (hoping it's minimal rather than major) to sort in the next few days so I'm jolly glad I hardly spent penny!

Kat, did you find a cheap way to send stuff back to NI? Is it an option to fill a couple of suitcases and take them next time you visit?

Thanks for the heads up on the ebay free listing I managed to squeeze a few listings on. I MUST get my act together and start listing other 'stuff' sometime soon. I thought I had minimised my belongings when I started my debt busting journey. Seems I wasn't ruthless enough!

I agree with moomin, the best idea would be to sell your stuff separately Kat and include details of other listings in each one. Good luck!

Ooh, off to watch Question Time - another thrilling evening in the life of a debt-buster!

Please still join usluckystarr! Maybe focus on fewer aspects instead? Or set your personal targets higher (food) or lower (NSD)? Just please don't wander off and not come back! Are you as far into your overdraft as last month? If not, then that is a positive result. Do you know where you spent the money? If you do, then that is a positive result too. If you don't, then Feb could be your time to ensure you note down every spend. Please stay!

  • :j:j:j It's FRIDAY!!! :j:j:j

I have never been so happy to see the weekend I have even changed my font as a celebration!!! Seriously cannot wait for this day to be O.V.E.R!!! Anyone else?

Landladys fiance is staying more and more each night now - I don't really care except their bedroom is directly opposite mine and he must have had a nightmare last night as he let out the more horrific, spine tingling scream at the top of his lungs at 0300 this morning and has left me feeling really perturbed and somewhat shaken. I am not one to like being woken up in any sense of the word but this was just awful - they were snoring away when I left this morning so I know they haven't been killed in their sleep but I had a horrible dream afterwards as well! Hummmph!

Anyway more bidding on eBay items happening. Following transport disruptions last night I got home too tired to care about further eBay items and slumped infront of The Bletchley Circle with the LLL and the Mog and Dog ( amusing ) and then bed... However I have written a list of at least 8 more items to be listed at .99p and fingers crossed...

Right... LuckyStarr stick with us for next month. Some times the month is a complete write off ( we have all been there ) then sometimes you will find you make headway - it's a learning curve but doesn't mean to have to step out. It would be weird without you anyway!..:p

Siousxie I was hoping the landlord that fell through could help with boxes as he works for DHL - so much for that. I haven't looked into it as much as I could as there is a chance my friends won't be able to help me out and I will drive home to Ireland in a hire car which means piling what ever I want stored into the back.... exciting!!! And yes I have decided to sell the items as suggested - tent seperate. Even if I get £20 for each it's half of my new rucksack...

I have vowed to now stop taking money out of paypal and see what kind of buffer I can build up..... just need to figure out what I can buy and sell that's very simple, desperately needed by everyone and easy to run!..:):):)...

Dolly84 - let me see if I understand.. you know have the £5900 on interest free for two years and the balance transfer fee was the cost of tho months of interest on the "old" card..? If so this is amazing! Is this the only debt left and do you have a debt free date in mind...? Is this card now in both names...?

Learning2Budget - am loving the positivity! :j and MrsGSR glad you are seeing changes while in these challenges. Looks like I need to consider something for February asap....

  • Well, another busy week has flown by here - lots of unwell people in the household and now DH is in bed and off work - First sick day for at least 6 years!!

Pax day here to and we actually managed to get to payday without transferring money back from the savings account! So it has been a successful month in that respect.
I've lost track a bit of the food spend but I have the receipts so it should be easy when we do the months accounts.
I'm off for the weekend with my son and some of his friends (DH was meant to do this but is ill) but I have bought the food and am quite well prepared so it shouldn't be too spendy.

Off to catch up with the thread

    Debt-free and Proud!
I so need to get on the fleabay wagon again but I admit it I am lazy! There are loads of things I need to flog and we could do with doing a car booty too! So already today I have stomped up to school and back, have made chocolate crunch and have a loaf due to go in. In the meantime I need to make phone calls about insurances, shuffle some money around and get a nap in.
Luckily DS is in a better mood today so is happy to potter around playing while I get stuff done.
Got two hours OT under my belt this week and a 7 hour premium rate shift booked for two weeks time so all that will be going on the CC next month. Didn't get paid for a shift I did on another department which is worth £30 so need to get that sorted!
Today will be a SFD, I've decided on Monday I will get all the money out for shopping, spends etc as I am planning 3 SFD in a row (I know, ambitious right?)
Work again tonight, only 4 hours though and tomorrow is onesie day yipppee! The only thing is my internet shop is due between 9-11 and cos it's from where I work I can't really wear my onesie because I will most likely know the delivery driver, maybe I will get dressed for that moment... hmmm.
Anyway hope everyone has a good day.

    Moorrrnin

Hope you are all well and good..

So, today has started a spend day. After researching items on my$upermarket I made my way to A$da and bought 10 packs of $unbites (work snacks for the next 5 months!) and 2 tubs of B£rtolli as they were on special offer (saving £9.60). I am taking money saving to another level these days and am purchasing more in bulk. I also bought some bread making stuff which I will do later on as I resent spending money on tasteless bread.

Sat down to look at my little black book and wall planner last night and went through figures based on this months estimated pay (actual pay will show on line on Sunday morning). I am going to delay the new mortgage application until next month because the thought of hanging onto this overdraft for another month makes me feel quite sick! :o

My payday plan goes something like this after budgeting for direct debits and overdraft clearance:

*£300 per month food/fuel/miscellaneous/leisure budget for the month in current account.

*Maximum £250 per month into a new high interest 'emergency fund' savings account which cant be touched for 1 year.

*£100 per month into the xmas/car/birthdays/dentist/hair/eye/ fund (disused savings) account. Although Im secretly hoping that I can pay for birthdays and haircuts out of my £300 monthly budget.

*£?? each month (whatever is left over from my pay) will go into another newly opened savings account which offers a better interest rate than my disused savings account. Might do tilly tidying to increase this (is that when you shift the odd pence to round off numbers?). To boost this, I am going to do surveys, a car boot sale when the weather gets better and sell on ebay once Ive got my butt in gear and mastered how to sell!

Hope you all have a good day and Kat hope youve recovered from your nightmare! :p

    Tatty bye folks
