  • Quick update

Dentist was ... better than I expected but still not great :o

Now have approx 4 months to find the money to pay for it

Munchin - thanks for that, I've seen it posted on a pet forum I'm a member of - sounds horrid :(. Fingers crossed doesn't seem to be around here but am keeping a close eye on her if we're at the beach

The problem with not going to the beach is a) she's a predatory chaser so woods etc cause a lot of problems to start with :( (dense cover, I can't see if there's anything 'chaseable' before she does etc) and b) she's a mud magnet :rotfl:

However, both upset tums have happened after we've been to the same beach - although there are also woods, walks through the dunes, heathland etc so it could've been something in that

Mum says it might even be something washing out the ground as it's been so wet

Will avoid that beach for a few weeks just in case .... (our weekend treat as well as it's beautiful :( but not with an upset tum)

Today - thinking I'll take her to the 'stinky' woods :rotfl:

It's the most wonderful place to walk & she absolutely LOVES it - just full of ditches of water - and she does def need a bath when we get back!!!!

    Wish me luck!!

  • Ohhhh bargain of the day (yesterday) - brand new pair of wellies for £2.99:)

Mum came up to drive me home from the dentist (dentist was anticipating a really bad extraction & thought the tooth would break - luckily it didn't - but was still a bit shaky) and we went for a big lunch first (as didn't think I'd be able to eat any dinner!)

Anyway, went to the new(ish) garden centre that's opened down the road for a look and I had a £10 gift voucher that needs used by the end of the month so ..... looked at some short wellies and found a pair for £12.99 :T

Unfortunately I can't get my normal length ones on anymore down to the knackered foot :( (it won't stretch out to go down the leg IYKWIM) and desperately needed some for walks to the muddy woods!

There were others there (in a rather nice deep purple colour) but they were sadly too big (have to get a size bigger than normal as there's no 'give' in wellies - again due to foot) once on - but they were over double the price so just as well really! :o

Mum's also happy as she got my nearly new long pair ;)

    Bargain willies yay!

I need industrial type ones for around the stables - I keep telling OH I am going to approach manufacturers and tell them I will test them for them as they never last me very long.

Hope doggies are ok now x

  • Ohhhhh my  :o :rotfl:

That did make me chuckle LAM, thanks :D

So ..... I don't know if you're like me but if I really NEED something (tops etc), I go shopping and don't find anything :( (which has happened a lot lately) but other days, there's just loads and loads  - well, yesterday was the latter :o

I did really NEED some new tops for work (sadly as I've put on so much weight due to the drugs and I'm really struggling to shift any of it).

I found a really nice top at M&S the other day - Mum had said she'd get me a top as part of my Christmas present but we hadn't got around to going shopping so she'd said to get one if I saw one I liked :) so I will get the money back for that one *phew*

So, yesterday, popped to Cameron Toll (where I've not been for YEARS) after my hospital appt as it was just along the road. Wow - pretty good selection of shops there now & I will def go back again (incl a £world!!)

Popped into B*H*S and found a nice top for £16 :T - however, I did get side-tracked by a handbag :o BUT it was at least in the sale AND will fit all my stuff for work in which will save having extra bags dragged along each day :o

Then onto Sains*burys and got 2 tops for £10 each :T

Really chuffed with those especially and it means I've not at least got a decent top for each day of the week (I do have a couple of current ones that 'will do' a bit longer but several that really should've been binned a long time ago :o)

Cats - if anyone's cats eat Gourmet Perle (as Archie does:(), they're now selling 4 packs (same flavour in each pack) for £1 in £stretcher :T - much cheaper than buying the boxes & they have a good range of the flavours (I managed to get 6 different flavours out of the 8 he eats yesterday!)

I'm making progress with Mia too and have found some tinned she'll eat - sadly not in the cheap range BUT when you cost them out compared to the pouches, a lot cheaper! :)

Today - off to Mum & Dad's for lunch so should be something nice & tasty :) (think we're having fish & chips!)

A*sda order coming tonight so will get some stuff in the fridge again as it's looking a bit sad ATM :o

    Happy Saturday everyone :)

  • So - another month seems to have slid by :o:eek:

Not much to report ..... plodding along :)

However, I have some MSE news :T (just realised I've 2 lots to share!)

    Broadband

Finally got around to phoning my broadband provider and seeing if I could get a new deal to stay (had a nightmare trying to move to b*t the last time & ended up without any broadband for nearly a week  so really don't want to move unless I have to)

I'm also in one of these silly restricted areas where I can only get my current provider & b*t which makes negotiating really difficult  (as the know you have very few options)

    Current package = 10Gb download limit @ £12.99 / month

    New package = Unlimited download limit ;) @ £6.50 / month for 24 months :T

Great news as always conscious that I may hit my limit (only happened a couple of times) esp now I have the tablet - means I'll be able to watch stuff on demand / see if I can get some free movies etc :)

    Mobile phone
Old contract finally ran out :) - it was a good deal & worked out @ £8.50 / month when the cashback was claimed but it was a PITA TBH so didn't really want to do it again

Contact had unfortunately reverted to full contract cost of £21 / month  so wanted rid ASAP

Sadly the phone was very fussy about when it wanted to work :( or I'd have kept it and gone for sim only

Anyway, now the proud owner of a new Moto G :) which is fantastic!

Contract = £16.99 for 12 months & then can downgrade to £11.99 / month for the 2nd 12 months (but I have to request this)

Get unlimited texts, 1Gb data & 120 mins talk time (which is fine for me)

    Quite chuffed with that too!:)

Slowly .... (very slowly) starting to get back onto the MSE wagon :o

  • Right .... I really need to get my head into MSE ways again as I've been terrible with money lately :o

It did all start to go wonky when I had to cut my hours last year - as didn't have enough to pay the bills, let along put money aside to cover this years :( BUT I've now got to May (which is the month most stuff renews ) and really don't have money to cover stuff *sigh*

I *should* be able to scrape enough together to pay my landline advance rental (£142) BUT def don't have anything left to cover the house insurance (£240) so will be having to put that one back to d/debit

Car pot is also empty - I did manage to scrape enough for Tax (£120) and MOT (£55) but it will be due a service in a couple of months & nada for that :(

Pets - *sigh* I've been trying to put a bit aside so I can cancel their insurances & switch them to Accident/Injury policies (which would be approx £15/month compared to approx £50 in insurance) BUT Maisie keeps getting silly little things which cost approx £120-£150 each :(

None of these are worth claiming due to the excess on the insurance so I'm thinking what's the point having it (but then think - what if something serious happens:o)

AND to top it all - I really seem to have totally lost the plot with my general spending :o I can't remember the last time I had a NSD :o and there's nothing left to go in the pots each month (and there should be!) as it's all going to the c/card as I've spent so much :o

    ARRRRGGGGHHHH

So .... need to do a new SOA and buckle down :o
