We made it in one piece!:j

Just back from walkies! Maisie had a whale of a time & is now snoozing on the sofa ;)

Found a pic so I can sort of show you where we went!

    image-handler.ashx?DataSource=WFP&imgID=23f0b1a1-a8f2-41c7-9c96-f0c757036991&subType=WoodImageSlideShow

Now - normally we would walk down to the left along the edge of the dark green wood, get to the bottom, turn right and then walk along the beach bit and either right round the outside & back by the beach or cut back through and come back up the lighter green bit in the middle - takes about 1.5 hours for the long walk and about an hour cutting back through the green bit

Today, as I didn't really want to walk through woods  or on the beach (blowing sand isn't nice for her as it's usually around her eye level :() so we went up the marshes - which is to the right of the light green bit & red sandy coloured bit and then cut back down the light green bit

Not as long - took about 40 mins - but she had great fun & was pelting through all the puddles in the marshes  wish I'd taken my phone to film her so must try to remember that next time!

Hope that makes some sort of sense!

I've got the water on & will be heading for a bath shortly - usually end up sitting & then getting really cold after being out :o

Are you better now too? Glad to hear Maisie is back to herself.

Your walks sound lovely I think my dogs would love the beach.

Thanks LAM - sorry for the delay in replying :o I am feeling a lot better :) but still really tired so not getting online as often in the evenings

Sure your dogs would LOVE the beach :) although it can take them a while to get used to it

When I got Maisie, I (naturally because of where I live) headed straight to the beach and ...... she wouldn't set foot on it .... literally!

She'd never been on it before & I hadn't really thought how odd it would feel - and of course it's not solid!

Took a while .... and even longer to get her in the water  but she does absolutely LOVE it now!

  • Pets insurance

Think I may have written earlier that my insurer is looking to sell it's customers to someone else and we'll be offered a "comparable" product - no mention of price :(

Been hunting around & still can't get anything at less than double what I pay now, with less annual cover & with a % payable on top of excess for Archie (now) and Maisie (in around 6 months):(

So ... the Accident / Injury insurance is looking more & more likely - it's not ideal but I certainly can't afford double .....

The whole thing's a scam and sadly think a lot of people are going to get priced out - and pets will suffer :(

It's partly down to advances in treatment (which are great) but I do think that sometimes people cross the line and ..... well you know. Also partly down to the costs paid by insurers ie people with will buy meds from vets & claim cost back BUT these can be bought for a fraction of the price online .... don't know why they don't clamp down on that instead!

So .... sorry :o it's really annoying me atm :o

Have cancelled the 3 charity donations :(, mobile insurance & window cleaner ..... and that's saved £23.34 / month :)

Have resurrected an old basic savings account (that I can't access online OR via a cash machine OR use for switch :D so raiding will be much harder!) and paid the 1st £20 in there ....

Hopefully I can get a few months before current insurer pulls out completely, switch to the A&I policy and then also stick the difference between that and the full insurance away too (that's around £25/month too)

    *sigh* still worries me though

Ohhhh lord ....... I'm afraid it's far too hard core for me :o

I'm afraid NSK and I errrrr shall we say 'didn't see eye to eye' when she first started her challenges (which must be well over a year ago now!)

I have the greatest admiration for anyone that can do it but ....

  • Lordy ... where has the weekend disappeared to!

Been quite busy :) but managed to relax too!:D

Have had 2 lovely walks with Maisie right around the country park :D - dry both days :j (just got back yesterday when it started to pelt down!)

Have made some carrot & coriander soup for lunches - not sure how long it'll last as it's ages since I made it so didn't get the quantity quite right :o so hoping for a reasonably frugal week ....

    Ironing done :)
Bath had & hair washed :)
    PJs on ;)

Only slight hiccup is that I forgot to get dinner out the freezer ..... it's on top of a radiator but think I may have to admit defeat and put it in the fridge for tomorrow

mmmmmm what to have instead is the question!

Still struggling with FT working & fitting everything else in :o but we'll get there

Not much news really - Maisie's had an upset tum (again:() so have been up with her every night this week (hence I'm shattered) - fingers crossed it's settling now

Got my car tax :) - no money in any coin jars but at least it's done for another year :T
