Ohhhhhh didn't know that Wanttobe:)
Thanks - will have a play with some figures .... usually when I'm in for deliveries, it's the expensive times(and I also don't stay up late in the evenings as I've noticed late times are cheap but .....)
Even if I did a big one every fortnight, I'd only need very small perishable top ups (eg bread etc) as the milk (although hideously expensive) is long dated! ..... ...
mmmmmmm thank you - will seriously think about that as the big store in town (where the deliveries come from) has a much better range of F&V - and also has big packs of things which the small stores here don't & they're much more economical .... mmmmmmmGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

You're welcome
Tesco also do them, but i dont think they work out as cheap.

Think Mr A is better overall for the stuff I use so that's fine - and I like most of their OB stuff too
It also stocks Mia's food which Mr T have now stopped selling  (and getting that was one of the reasons I did have to venture to the big Mr A)
And they do a big pack of ham that I love and the pack does me a whole week of work lunchesfor £4 (yes, there may be cheaper but I really like this, don't seem to get sick of it AND it agrees with me!)
If I did a big fortnightly shop then that would be say 6 deliveries off £15 so that's not too bad!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Ooh I like the two lists plan - might have to try that
Also, MySupermarket were offering free delivery as a trial and have just extended it for another three months for me... so might be worth looking there? (I suspect they identified me as I signed up with them ages ago and still haven't used it - it ends up being cheaper for me to shop on the way home from work than pay the delivery charge and I haven't been organised enough to sort out proper huge shops!)

will have a look at that over the weekend - free trials are great (and 1/2 the time you're fed up with it well before the time's up so you do only buy the ones you really need!)
Should perhaps warn you that it's a bit addictive
I now play with my budget in between faffing with other things on the net and have been known to input transactions to my phone on the bus home

Sounds fabby:D tablet needs charged so will download / give it a try tomorrow
I've tried loads of budgeting apps and have (sadly) yet to find one that is really what I'm after - many seem to reset each week / month and you can't carry balances forward for some odd reason
The 2 shopping lists are fab - as soon as I open something like a bottle of Olive Oil, I stick it on list 2 to get one the next time there's an offer on
Just about guaranteed you've managed to find an offer before it has to go to list 1!

I hadn't got round to trying apps so was just using a spreadsheet, but that was, er, failingand I spotted this program recommended elsewhere on MSE/ DFW. It took me a while to get my head round doing things by calendar month as it's a small adjustment from payday to payday, but you can split incoming money to different months which solved that, and anything you don't spend in any category automatically gets rolled over to the next month. Also, they have loads of support on the website from guides through to interactive web classes. I'm converted
probably just as well :rotfl:
