  • Oh my .... just up:o

I was up around 6 but then thought .... nope, it's Saturday, so snuggled back down and .... errrrr

Beautiful & sunny out there! :D (and on a weekend too!) & a wonderful, crisp frost!

Will try to do one load of washing and then take Maisie out - not sure where we'll go as it is really one of those days we'd normally head off somewhere a bit different and have a good couple of hours pottering around BUT I really don't think she's up to that yet :( (she's a lot better but still really tired after her normal walks) mmmm will ponder that one

The beaches will be heaving as it's a nice day  mmmm

Now wondering if I should run & put clothes on & dash to the beach now before it gets too busy ... ohhhhh .... but she'll enjoy seeing other dogs / people if we go later .... *sigh* decisions are too hard when I'm literally just up!

  • Can I swear please?

    *"£8$&*% @"$£)q£"$*()

    arrrrrggggghhhhhh

Popped over to nearby town with the lovely beach and (small) Mr T and C00p

Had a lovely walk on the beach with Maisie :D and then stopped at C00p to get some fabric conditioner (their OB doesn't upset my eczema) as my local store doesn't stock it (and I'm on my last bottle:eek:) and then at Mr T (fuel)

Just got home and ...... gone in the fridge and ....... into my last carton of milk:mad: Forgot I'd been to Al*di (as they don't stock it) and hadn't got more

*sigh* local C00p doesn't sell it ..... (but one I was in today does ) so will have to be another spendy day tomorrow *sigh*

NSDs are proving hard now! :o

oh dear how frustrating about the milk.

Glad to hear Maisie is a little better.
  • How come Sunday's always just fly by!

Had a lovely walk in the woods near the beach with Maisie this morning - lovely & crisp & icy :D - our favourite! (oops just remembered I was going to top the screen wash up but it's pitch black now & I'm just out the back as I was freezing so don't fancy going outside again - must do that in the morning)

Have spent a lot of time trying to find a new food for Maisie *sigh* she's so difficult as she has Colitis and does best on Fish based kibble (I do mix in high meat content wets too) BUT unfortunately the one she's on is making her itch :( She has been itchy for a while but we'd put it down to maybe harvest mites etc but sadly can't be that now so has to be the food

PITA as it suits her otherwise (tummy is good) and she's lost 4kg on it

Old food was OK (and she didn't itch!) BUT I really struggled to keep the weight off her when she was on it and if I cut it down, she scavenged when we were out (you don't want to know what ) so don't want to go back to that for obvious reasons!

Trying to find something without anything in it that will upset her is very tedious & time consuming - and unfortunately none of them are cheap!

  • Oh lord - I've lost a week already

I've been hit with this awful lurgi that's been going around - made it to work until Weds & then felt awful (sore throat, earache & dizzy - which I'm guessing is down to the ears)

Tried to go Thurs but didn't make it and have been struggling since :( Pants

I have bursts of energy but after 1/2 an hour, I'm absolutely knackered - taking ages to get anything done!

  • Budget hot water bottle covers & mini aprons

Managed to pick up a few HW bottles cheaply a few weeks ago (Moo - hope you managed to get some!) but they sadly didn't have covers

Haven't really done much about it as it's not been that cold but with having the lurgi, I've been needing them the past few nights & struggled with either burning my toes :( or not getting enough heat with them wrapped in a towel!

So - tonight, I've finally got around to making the covers .... I'd seen some micro-fibre t-towels reduced (B&M I think) to £1.79 for 4 - the nice ribbed ones .....

Sewed along the bottom & up one side & hey presto, instant HW bottle covers at a very nice cost of 45p each :money:

They also make great mini-aprons by sewing some ribbon to 2 corners and you can then tie around your waist and have something to wipe / dry your hands on while cooking - and can go instantly in the WM :T

Must try to update budgets tomorrow  (and think I'll do a Mr A order & get the delivery for 3 months) ... now, I'm back off to bed!

Those aprons are a brilliant idea - I'm someone who hates being messy when cooking so they sound amazing :)

Still haven't found a hot water bottle under a tenner, but going to the dentist on Monday and will be wandering past Poundstretcher so will check in there.

    Hope you feel better soon.

They're fab! :D And it's just so easy - don't know why I didn't think about it years ago!

I must wash my hands a dozen times when I'm cooking (I HATE them being dirty) and although I do have "proper" aprons it's not really practical to have enough that you can just use once & chuck in the machine & use a new one the next night! (that would cost a fortune as they're not cheap!)

A pack of 4 t-towels converted cost probably around 50p each - I had to buy some ribbon as didn't have any bits long enough but got a discontinued roll in Hobby*craft for 99p ;) and have a fair bit left if I need to do some more!

There always seems to be at least one clean & at least one drying!
