Thanks both .... sorry for my wee moan
gets a bit frustrating sometimes when you see others getting say 2L milk for £1 and it's costing you a fortune
AND even more frustrating when local shops don't even sell it so you end up having to make a special trip for it .....
Must be more organised & go to the big Mr T at least once a month & get a load (trouble is limited fridge space tho') .....Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Could you freeze it? It is a pain when it's so more expensive. Have you tried almond milk?Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Good news!
On a more positive note .... bathroom is def clearing up :j
It smells LOADS better in there - I've not had any more washing in there (no idea where I'm going to put this!) & have left the window open & radiator on (with the door shut so the rest of the place doesn't get freezing)
Def need to go around the window with bleech again - I didn't do too well at the weekend as it's really bloomin hard to reach
The window is at the back of a deep ledge (it's a boxed bit which I presume hides all the pipework etc?) - prob 18" deep
As if that's not bad enough - the sink is right in front of that  and .... that's enormous! (at least 24" deep)
Honestly, it's a tiny bathroom dominated by this ginormous sink - the builder went bust part-way through building them & another builder bought them & finished them .... but nothing matches or is really great TBH - they've obviously used what they had or end of line stuff
When I had an outside tap put in, the guy went under the sink and couldn't believe the mess - he said every pipe under there is a different size ..... and that's really the whole house!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Sadly not - TD is already in the spare room as I couldn't fit both the freezer & it in the garageslowlyfading wrote: »Could you freeze it? It is a pain when it's so more expensive. Have you tried almond milk?
mmmm maybe ... but prob not room for enough to make a huge difference
Almond milk is OK now & then but not great in things like coffee (urgh really don't like it in that)
I do actually really like the Lactofree (thank goodness) - it's just to bloomin' expensive!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hi Rising.
Really dumb question but can you water it down. I know some people buy whole milk and add water to make semi-skimmed...is there an option with the special stuff?

Hi KJlovely to see you on my new diary
mmmmmmm I have to say - firstly, thanks for the suggestion they are all welcome:) - BUT ...... I'm afraid watering down milk is one of my absolute pet hates
I really don't think people think it through properly - and TBH at being able to buy 2L for £1 they have nothing to complain about the cost of it!!
It might just seem like watering it down & getting more .... and if an adult chooses to do this to themselves, that's their choice
But .... for kids ... and adults with special dietary requirements - OMG have they really thought of the implications - it might seem like just making it go twice as far BUT the difference between full / semi / skimmed milk is fat .... it's not calcium / other vitamins
So by diluting, they're reducing the amount of calcium / other good things in the milk
Sorry - just wanted to highlight while I had a chance as I really don't think people think about the implications of diluting milkGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
