Goals for 2014

Not really an update, just something that came to mind seeing as we're coming up to the Council Tax so-called "free months" in Feb/Mar, if you pay by installments. I normally use the money that would have been going out and use it to pay a bit off credit cards etc, and I was wondering what other people do...?
I pay ct on two places so I will be looking at £300+ for both months, which I'm debating what to do with. Any moneysaving ideas welcome !

Sabbathdie...the 2 'free' ct months: consider putting it to your credit card; overpay mortgage; put it to savings/emergency fund...main thing is not to fritter it away. Be interested to find out what you decide. Plenty of inspiration in the various forum topics.0

* stick to meal planner which will = healthier eating completely sticking to it so far!
* stop drinking. .. healthier and cheaper:D dry January is def on track... not sure about all year though?
* encourage oh to get a job!
* try and not get stressed at work... this could be a challenge in early part of year as working on a project
* I go to a yoga class once a week... start doing yoga at home (which will help the stress levels) 2 x 35 minute sessions done... going to try and do most mornings before work
OK - so the goal of not drinking now seems a bit ambitious... I'm definitely going for a dry January though... I'm 40 this year so I might want to do a wee bit of celebratingx

As well as two CT free months, you also get two free Water Rates months.
Both January and February (not February and March - I start paying a month early due to awkward paydays) are £106-75 cheaper for me.
That's £213-50, over the 2 months. :cool:0 -

2. Lose 2 stone.
3. Start decorating the house.
