Aims from end Dec 2013 to end Dec 2014:
1: Reduce mortgage debt by overpaying. Overpaid £47 this month.

    Hi Gym,

Do you pay your overpayment direct to Mortgage company no matter how little each month or do you store in an savings account and pay a bigger sum?

I ask because it's a goal of mine and don't know how disciplined I would be saving up for a few months each time.

    Well done by the way:D
Oh I do want to live in Countryside.......with the kids, pets and LOTS of books.........

    I can beat that.

In total, my last 5 Christmases have cost me £0-00.

In fact, due to me covering Christmas shifts, for people who wanted the days of, you could argue my last 5 Christmases have cost me less than £0-00.

    Thanks

I do 2 things. 1 was by default where I set the overpayment about £10 above the minimum level. I then send them a cheque every month either by post or by paying it at the branch. So it's done monthly. It's a repayment mortgage and I figured even a small amount of overpayment means less interest off each month so more goes towards reducing the sum. Now I got rid of my credit card I can overpay more each month. With the forum aim I want to focus on seeing the mortgage reduce and pay it off early.
