  • Excellent thread,

    My goals for 2014 are

    1. Finish and submit my dissertation
    2. Finish my Tefl course
    3. Pay off the credit cards 8000?- decided not to borrow any more money, so debt was 4600 now 4490
    4. Declutter and reorganise the whole house.

have decluttered and reorganised the spare room!

    5. Save 5000.
    6. Be good at my job - be organised, confident.
    7. Get a boyfriend. a nice kind solvent (!) man.
    8. Loose two stone.
    9. Complete a half marathon -started some kind of running challenge thing with my friends....
    10. Drive on the motorway
    11. Make and keep male friends
    12. Write. everyday.

    I think that covers it.

    XX

Am very pleased! The spare room was a nightmare and now there is carpet.

I have to do my room, the conservatory and various cupboards. plus my Mum's room but that is obviously her concern more than mine as it is all her stuff.

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Hey peeps,

    Update from me.

    1. Save £5000 (want to buy a house so this will be a start)

Haven't really been able to make a start on this as I am still an unemployed bum.

    2. Weigh 10st 7lbs (long long longgggggggg road)

Hmmmmmmm we'll got weighed today & it was horrid. I weigh 14st 12lbs which means I need to lose 61lbs to get to my ideal weight.

    3. Get into exercise (I am a lazy sod)

Still haven't moved my !!! unless it's been to get more chocolate out of the fridge hence why the above goal is getting ever further away.

    4. Keep to my shopping budget (Not good at this at all)

This has been goin very well, stayed under budget last 2 weekly shops - yippppeeeeeeeeeee

    5. Get a job (This should probably have been number 1! Oops)

I have been looking will need to get my big heavy butt in gear with this unemployment is turning me into a lazier old tv addict

    6. Pass my driving test (Theory passes 13th December 2013)

Have my 3rd lesson booked for Monday! Can't wait & will be starting on my manouvres - vroom vrooooooom.

That's about it from me for tonight.

Pegging myself prepared for diet starting tomorrow.

    Dxxx
  • Happy Saturday Everyone and Day 4.

    My update for today.

"1, Make an overpayment of £1.5k on the mortgage
2, Decorate & tile my bathroom, bedroom and DS's Bedroom......(and potty train and get him into a big boys bed!) - Nothing done on this yet, but did tell my OH to take little'un with him when he goes for a widdle in the hope he might "get it"
    3, replace guttering
4, Declutter (ongoing with 2 kids!)

    On a personal level;

5, Get a better camera (saving up swagbucks, surveys etc for this) and get more involved with photography - I did by a magazine today with some great tips and visited a wildlife photography exhibition today, it was difficult to really take it all in thanks to the "terrible 2's with DS"
6, Finally have a family holiday even if it's just 4 days on a Sun Deal. Bought the paper, so it's a start. My mum also collects them for me and I also waste them.
7, continue walking through and visiting the local country side.
8, Volunteer, even if it's not regular...... "

Adding to my list - replace lost Driving licence and (finally) update my address on it!

So now it's time for BB catch up and a glad of Vino.
Oh I do want to live in Countryside.......with the kids, pets and LOTS of books.........

Hey Everyone! Great progress being made on these goals! :TWee update from me below:

    1. Pay Loans (£7842) - now £7139 - :)
    2.Pay & close [STRIKE]5 [/STRIKE]4 CCs (£8000) - now £7460 - :) and closed one card!
    3. Read 6 books - no progress as yet - :(
    4. Complete photo albums x4 - no progress as yet - :(
5.Exercise at least twice a week for 45 mins - no progress as yet - :(
    6. Get to my goal weight (10st 3lbs) - have started thinking about it, have made a shopping list, have started small and plan to start properly on Monday!!! :D
    7. Redecorate my bedroom - no plans until March
    8. Say 'no' when I need to - have said 'no' twice this year to requests when I needed to, even though I felt awful about it and felt guilty - it's progress for me :)
    9. Save £3000 for maternity fund - saved £50 :)
    10. Pray more - have made a real conscious effort to do this and have have prayed every night since NYD - :)
    11. stop wasting fruit and veg - going to make a veggie pasta, fruit salad and potato and veg soup tomorrow - :)
    12. Gut out spare room - taking 4 black bags to the samaritans recycling tomorrow full of clothes and have sorted through all my paperwork, ready to be shredded at work next week ( a bit to do but it's a start!) - :)

So.....not too bad at all! And for me, Rome wasn't built in a day. As long as I'm taking steps, however tiny, I'm making progress and closer to my goal ( I learned this when I was very depressed, even washing a dish made me feel that I had achieved something). I feel proud of myself. Just need to get going on the diet/exercise front.

I am super proud of everyone too!:)

Thanks for the tips on the diet coke!

    NYD xxx :)

  • 5) Remember that having "stuff" does not make me happy. This links to number 1 and number 4.
    6) Find a way to feel a bit happier with my lot. My life isnt perfect but I have got a lot to be thankful for.

Hey Yorkshire Lass! I loved your 5th and 6th goals, they really resonate with me. I know 'stuff' doesn't make me happy, yet I want them. Do you ever have those moments when you have no money and see lots of things to buy then the minute you have some money to spend on yourself (birthday for example) you can't see/think of anything to buy? That's me! And when I get 'stuff' I'm never happy, I always want something else. It's a never ending hamster wheel. And I truly love your no.6. There is so so much in my life that I need to be thankful for and I need to keep reminding myself of that. So, thank you for your post and that reminder to me that life is actually very beautiful and full of wonderful things. x

Hi all Hope everyone is doing well with goals
    So far today I have
cleaned all kitchen cupboards out (found things i didn't even know I had)
Put 3 days no smoking money into savings for monthly direct debits (extra payments)
Cleared out and tidied cupboard under the stairs WOW it was like going into the unknown.
Still focused on diet. I have to be strong as I am not smoking.

Hope this new me stays and the old one gone

Hi Motivated  well done on the stopping smoking. It's the hardest thing I've ever done (made losing 5 stone look easy...lol!) and I'm behind you 100%. How are you doing it? Please pm me if you need any support....I celebrate 2 years smoke free on 8 January after 20 years of smoking and I love it. Keep strong. x
