Hi everyone
I love this idea and hope you don't mind if I join in as well.
My goals for 2014:
1. At least half my credit card bill before next year. Its currently at £1700 so £850 off would be good, its at 0% until October 2015 however I only have about £50 a month to throw at it.
2. Get my savings accounts back with a health amount in them. Leave the money alone in the accounts do not dip into them unless completely necessary.
3. Earn at least £1000 in extra money.
4. Stick to my budget. I better do this to keep on track!
5. Record everything! I have bought a day to a page diary and I intend on writing every last thing in it from food I am eating that day to how much I am spending and how my day has been.
6. Lose weight - Ideally I would like to lose about 2 stone and drop a dress size.
7. Exercise at least twice a week.
8. Read at least 6 book off my kindle and buy no more until all the books I have on there are read!

Great thread! Before I start though, a little message for the diet coke people - I had a diet coke habit in 2012 which started by joining weight watchers last January as it was my substitute for chocolate. Since finally getting round to going to the dentist in September and being told off for drinking it, I have almost given it up over the last 3 months! It took a while to wean off but now I drink a lot more weak sugar free squash instead which is better for the teeth and now only have diet coke as a mixer with rum when I go out (which isn't often on my budget). So good luck to you guys on the DC challenge!!
Hi Vic - well done on the DC reduction! How did you do it and did you get any massive withdrawal symptoms? I have tried lots of times, but always go back to it. A lot of the time I use it rather than eating but I sometimes think it's the bubbles I like so diluted orange and soda water might do the trick? Please share any tips that you have!

Wow, it's like I wrote some of these without knowing I had written them! I too am fat, in debt and addicted to diet coke! I gave up smoking in 2007 as a result of Alan Carr book - very highly recommended. I am just about to start the 9th week of not drinking which is awesome! Awesome! So.
1. To lose 3 stone
2. To run 10k (not running at all at mo)
3. To give up Diet Coke
4. To budget stringently every month and keep my eye on the ball
5. To drink more water
6. To stay focussed on setting up my business
7. To stay focussed on all these things!
8. I've lost the plot with knowing how to focus on paying the debts, £50k, so I'm going to start here and see where I get.
9. To work out how on earth to have a social life!DFD - 26th March 2014 :j0 -

Good morning campers and welcome to our new posters, all are welcome here !
Well, 4 more days off work until back to the grind. To be honest, I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine, much easier to stick to my new healthy living goals. My body is crying out for a salad, or some veg, and a good workout to be honest. Sitting about the house eating chocolate and shortbread takes it toll! And if I look at my spreadsheet for 2014 once more, I think I may chuck my laptop out of the window - those figures will NOT change the more I look at them! Still, at least it gives me plenty of time to spend on MSE which will def reduce when I go back to work.
I woke up today with a new resolve and aim to achieve a number of things:
- take down the tree and all decorations and get the house back to some sort of normality
- get through as much washing as possible before going back to work
- general tidy up and steam the floors (with our new steam mop bought with christmas gift money)
- start gutting out the spare bedroom to prepare for car boot sale in the spring and to hopefully prepare for a nursery
- read 2 chapters of my new book
AND all of this without spending a penny!
I've also had a healthy breakfast of wholemeal toast, ham and tomato and a big bowl of melon and 2 pints of water. :A Lunch will be omlette (cheese, onion, ham and tomato) with a salad. Not decided dinner yet but will on the chicken lines....
How is everyone getting on with your goals???
