I've paid another £80 today. Had to get new car seats for kids so less than I'd hoped buy better than nothing!
I messed up my totals somewhere along the way so debt is more than I had calculatedI asked admin to changed my totals.
My new figures are £580 \ £12486 (4.6%).
Another £49.94 to get me to 5%. Will try to get that paid in on Friday.Happy!0 -
Hi everyone!
Back in to check in and update!
Firstly, congratulations Kerri! :T What a fantastic way to start the year. And beautiful name too.
Secondly, I know I have said it before but this is such a great thread. I try and read the update every morning and it really has helped me think about money and how I can make the most of it. I don’t reply to all the updates but I am reading them and think everyone is really making such a good effort in January. Go us!
So, in terms of living frugally we have improved. Not perfect, but improved.
We are really thinking about the money we spend before we spend it, and ways to make it go further.
I have also tried to up our income with a number of survey sites and mystery shopping sites but not sure I have the patience! Will keep trying, but after starting with high hopes I am now not expecting too much – but a nice bonus if we can.
But we have had some good results selling bits and pieces and getting more organised, and I hope to continue working on that for the next five weeks until our holiday.
We have also made our first payment of the year, which is a one-off, not-to-be-repeated, raided-all-the-savings payment of £7436.42, clearing one credit card completely! :T
Ouch! :rotfl: But it has made quite a dent! And it does mean the beast of interest can’t get us. Mwhahahahaa!
So that makes a total payment so far in 2014 for us of: £7606.91/£13,228.73!
I have worked out that means we have paid 57.5 % of our total debt… although percentages were never my strong point at school! Is that right? Anyone know the calculation?!
That leaves us with £5,621.82 still to pay.
Next month will be tough as we have got our holiday and my OH is changing jobs (woo hoo!) which will see him change from weekly wages to monthly so there’ll be a gap there too. It’ll be okay, but might be March/April before anymore significant payments can be made.
Still, not bad for January eh?!
Really looking forward to seeing the combined thread total on the spreadsheet. Thanks to admins for all your work.
And it goes to show what you really can achieve when you put your mind to it, eh?!
Have a great week everyone.Debt free by Xmas 2014 £7775.64/£13,228.73
