  • Sorry, this one was probably confusing for you both jonesy and Moneysavingtrainee - Moneysavingtrainee, I had you down on the spreadsheet as an early member but waiting for debt total. You're number 057, so I will give number 123 to the next newbie (unless you prefer 123?)

Thanks minicooper, I'll stick with #57 if that's ok. I have updated my total since (I think I did it right) it's all new to me!

  • I'm not sure if you updated my miscalculation and saw that I had to add a further £40 to my total.

today is one of those WOE IS ME days! urg... it will all work out eventually
  • Hi all

Just checking in.. made a big step today! The largest debt of just over £8k I have been paying £50 per month for the past 2 years. I had the money, but was not making myself the true broke that I realy am and still carrying on with the lifestyle that got me into debt in the first place.
Today - I re looked at my spreadsheets I did pre xmas and I said that I was going to pay £700... so I changed my standing order to pay that amount every month now.
I feel a bit sick - like a little child who has had their pocket money cut off! BUT I realise that I am am wasting time paying minimum payments and then spending £650 on luxuries whilst posting on here!
Feeling embarrased as you lot all work so hard at debt busting and Im a fraud.. but I'm going to do it now once and for all.. I shall be here next year... but with saving targets NOT and I really mean NOT in debt still
Sorry to be childish but I need a group hug, this was a really hard thing for me to own up to and commit to :-(

:grouphug: oh my lovely, dont be embarrassed, well done you for sorting out your payments, big virtual group hug coming your way

I had one of those yesterday - we ended up getting a Dominos for dinner and I had a shopping spree online (a hat and pencil topper thing from the Topshop sale - total £7! :rotfl:) then got back to sorting out the house, checked my budget - still within limit for the month and feel a bit better today  In the middle of painting my nails and all food from home today so happier to be back on track!

Me too - been having lot of those days this month ! Even though I'm bang on track (and even a bit ahead) it still feels like BLAH and I want more progress under my belt! But I've always been the impatient sort once I put my mind to something :o It is the most motivated I've been in ages though and feels good! :D So have to remember that focus when the WOE IS ME starts to kick in and just battle on through.

And once we have January out of the way I think we'll all start to feel like a bit of headway is being made :)

  • hi all

I am the same today - I have been plugging in all my future monthly payments just to see my "total debt paid off" and my "% paid off" go up! ha ha roll on summer I say - by then I would be just over 50% the way through my debt paying off just under £6k. I really need to spend my time more wisely today, but at least this is keeping me focussed. I want the same spreadsheet next year, but for saving not debt repaying

    Happy sunday everyone!

  • I think I live in a time warp sometimes. I bought my car 2 years ago, and it was 8 years old. I realised last night that it's no longer 8, it's now 10  Need to start putting money aside for a new one, just in case something breaks worth more than the car.

I'm getting really depressed thinking of all the things I need to put money aside for right now. I think I need about £15k to cover everything, which will take a few years even if I'm very frugal! This is when I get really depressed when others seem to be able to pull together the money in 5 minutes flat :(

My car is 10 this year too Mini! Hard to believe. May I take a wild guess that you have a Mini Cooper? Me too! (Hence the pic;)) Little beauts, I plan to keep it for a long time all being well, they look so cute and retro anyway who cares :D (If they are healthy of course hehe) Sorry to divert :p
