A little bit of me wishes you could pay another £1 offI've never been brilliant at saving, because there is always something that needs paying for!
I have been doing the sealed pot challenge and it is great. I saved £63 last year which was a life saver for Christmas and this year it was £90 which will help pay for lots of Christmas treats!I would definitely recommend it! It's amazing how much you can save, even if you are just popping a bit of change in it like me.
They are very friendly over on the SPC thread and popping on there every now and then will keep you motivated.
Sealed pots are really good - I bought a £1 tin from the pound shop, put any money left in my purse on payday into it and any 50p's. When I opened it, I had £130 in around a year. Very good idea!nannygladys wrote: »Congrats Wanna Bee Free, it must be a great feeling!!!
OK no. 203 here, haven't posted in ages but ..... no excuses really. I haven't done too bad really considering the year I have had and what is left is all 0% which is good. I have a total of £2330 left to pay, but I have £600 put aside to pay off it so when that's put to it there's £1730 left to pay, and I'm hoping to get it paid off by Xmas 2015 so I will joining again.
Nannyg
Hi Nannyg - could I be a pest and ask you to tell me how much you've paid instead of the remaining balance? It's just the way my spreadsheet is set up, and I don't trust myself to do the maths for people!0 -
Me and my partner like to go to some Christmas markets each year, and this year to save money we decided to do a UK break in London. Bad idea! It would have been cheaper to fly to Europe and do it properly, London is SO expensive.
Anyway, we're off there on Friday, taking in an opera and having a mulled wine or two. Not very MSE, but I do love Christmas markets0 -
I feel like I've been a very absentee forum runner lately! Life has been very much on top of me. Not that we did a lot over the weekend past, we have been recovering from jet-lag and catching up from work! Hopefully I can be a bit more on top of things until Christmas now.
Two amazingly new debt free members in the last week -
Congratulations Wanna Bee Free :j:j:j! How amazing to be debt free after so long, and I bet you're still waiting for the feeling to sink in!

We're also now well over the amount paid off in 2013 as well - keep up the good work!
P.S. I really hope I haven't missed anyone - please give me a stern telling off if I have (OH came in to go to sleep, and I'm trying to be a bit quick before I get told off!!)0 -

I think you've been a great forum owner - thank you! very few of us could have a whole year of being on here every 5 minutes - without our OH's abandoning us anyway!
gunWharf and everyone, keep on keeping on in this most spendiferous month of December..0 -
I just checked my original debt amount. Crazy that I have doubled my debt but still paid 90% of it off. Now if only I hadn't bought that great big TV in June hahaha It was worth it.
Figures are in my sig. Really hoping to pay it all off in next payday.0 -
