Hello, have you started a pay off all debt by xmas 2015 yet? I'd like to be added please :) started my own because I couldnt see one :) thanks x

Hi grassgirl, pablosammy is right - the 2015 thread will start around boxing day, when this challenge ends. You are welcome to join now, and see what you can pay off by christmas!

Hi everyone  just back from holiday this morning, have read back through your posts, but I'm on the tablet now so I'll give a proper catch up later! We've been stateside in Las Vegas this week - really good trip, but shockingly expensive over there! I was quite a good little money saver though, did lots of free things, used a coupon book to get money off where I could, and actually ended up a bit too busy to gamble much. Our flight left on Thanksgiving, and a lot of the airport shops had early black Friday deals on - I picked up a £24 bottle of moisturiser for £7, 2l of Bacardi for £15 and got some good clothes deals too.

I'll be using any leftover spending money to reach target. I also bought a lot of my Xmas presents over there, so I'll work out how much it cost in UK money and take that money from my Xmas present budget too.
  • I'm glad to hear you had a fab holiday minicooper! Mat, well done for not buying those essential gadgets today and on your 90%. Good luck with the final push this month.
Ruby your post struck a real chord with me today - you are so right about not adding to it.
Pablo Sammy sounds like you're going great guns at the moment- well done!

I am pleased to say that another £1,000 has come off my debt so I'm now technically debt free. The only thing I need to do now is keep a tight rein on my Crimbo spending otherwise I'll be back on Boxing Day with all you lovely motivated folks to pay off my credit card spending this month.

I want to say thank you to everyone who's posted on here and a huge thank you to Mini and her elf assistants! When redundancy was looming and then I had to wait ages to get paid this thread helped to keep me on track with not spending my redundancy money. I still kind of feel like I cheated by getting a lump sum but am so pleased to be there today I don't care how it happened! I plan to keep reading on here to see how you're all doing in December anyway and to keep my impulses under control!

Thanks Abba, not sure it's sunk in yet! I've had debts since the 80's I reckon. It probably likes Abba and Babycham. Not a bad idea for a party actually...
  • Congrats Wanna Bee Free, it must be a great feeling!!!

OK no. 203 here, haven't posted in ages but ..... no excuses really. I haven't done too bad really considering the year I have had and what is left is all 0% which is good. I have a total of £2330 left to pay, but I have £600 put aside to pay off it so when that's put to it there's £1730 left to pay, and I'm hoping to get it paid off by Xmas 2015 so I will joining again.
