Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2014!

I'm checking and double checking the budget, but I'm pretty sure I have the cash to make a loan overpayment. I don't want to overcommit before Christmas, even though I've budgeted for presents. I think I'm going to keep it in the bank until new year, and get the 2015 thread off to a flyer!
It feels strange being vaguely in control for once, I hope I can keep the ball rolling this time.0 -

Ahoy ahoy!
Paid off a little more which is great. Also got my first Uni assignment results back. I got 72% which I am really pleased with, especially for my first piece of work.
I've just paid this months payment on the credit card, so new balance is below.
£81 paid - £2931.51/£6414.51 45.70%
I have read a few of you talking about 'YNAB'. When I googled it it came up with the website You Need A Budget. I'm guessing that's the right site.
What is it actually like? I am intrigued but I don't really like the thought of paying $60 for something, but wondering if it could be worth it. DH is self employed so we have two regular monthly payments that come in from customers but we also have a variety of other payments that come in at different times of the month. Is it any good if you have a varied income, especially when you don't know how much it will be and when it will be paid?Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -

There is a fully-featured month's trial, so just give it a go, no commitment. It takes a while to get your head around, but once you do I've found it to be a revelation. I've never really thought about how I'm using my money quite as much as I have when using YNAB, and it's like the good angel that's been conspicuously absent from my shoulder in the past!
Last year they halved the price for Black Friday, which is this Friday. Keep those eyes peeled.0 -

I get paid on Thursday this week and then the December pay is always paid a few days early, just before Christmas. Definately a life saver as I haven't managed to save any money for Christmas this year.
I'm rubbish at saving money as I always ending up spending it if I have easy access to it. My solution hopefully for next year is to get my partner to open a savings account in his name, that I will pay money into each month. I won't have access to the account so I'll have to ask him for the money whenever I need it.
My other idea is the Sealed Pot Challenge. Perhaps if I put money into one of those tins that requires a tin-opener to get into that will stop me opening it until Christmas!
Anyone else rubbish at saving?Starting 2016 debt-free

Hi all :-)
Payday today so a quick update from me.
I didn't get much of a bonus this month, only £200. :-( But I have sent it directly to overpay my car loan, together with the £55 which was left in my current account at the end of yesterday.
Even though my loan repayments aren't due to start until February, I have saved £55 of interest and one month off the term too!
In other good news, the final payment for my student loan has been taken, so that will be another £128 a month to overpay the loan too.
It won't be long until the snowball is really starting to roll!
