As a bonus I'm spending no money, just working all the time! :D

    #098 £2002.32/6540 31%

    See ya'll soon!

    Well done :T
would love to know how this is done.
wot have peeps done, to do this.
i owe about £5500.i have cut back so much, stopped over paying on my mortgage, dumped some polices that i did not need, stopped the milk, beening devlived to my door. it was £0.71 a pt.i can get four for a quid.
    i have done a budget.
i should have £400/£600 left over each month!!!!!
i am single and live alone, well just me and the cats.

    overdraft. £1,900 old account
    secone overdraft £1,500 main account
    loan £1, 700

    i have no credit cards

each month i get £250 from the atm, which i use for food, fuel, cat food. and so now.
just looking for some adviced really.

    thanks

I would read back a few pages and get a feel, everyone goes about this differently but in general the successful ones just plug away slowly, a small payment frequently adds up and becomes addictive. Maybe ask your bank how you can reduce your overdraft limit gradually say by £50 at a time so the facility isn't there any more. Give your total and minicooper will give you a number, I hope there will be another challenge next year too (as you can see I have a LOT to pay still...)

Absolutely! Welcome  minicooper will give you a number at some point.

Exciting news chez spagbol. DH has some freelance work this week which should prove lucrative and I've been told I will have a small amount of an inheritance coming my way soon from a family member that died last year. Whilst I feel a bit bad just chucking that into the black hole :( when I think about interest and monthly payments it is as if they have gifted me about £60 a month for the rest of my life so that's wonderful :A

  • glittery I think you would regret it! You'll have to buy presents anyway, arrange for them to be posted, buy food you wouldn't have had to.

I lived a similar distance from home until recently - can you take the train instead? Book early and it's 1/4 of the usual price. Can you look at making presents? I made home made limoncello and infused gin for people 2 years ago it worked out around £4 a gift. I was going to make toiletries for people last year, but we did secret Santa a instead because my friend needed to save money. I also doubled up my clubcard vouchers to buy my sister an expensive set of kitchen scales and my OH a caffetierre. This year I've switched my clubcard to save up all my points for Christmas, and I'll do something similar. At this rate i should have around £50 to spend.

There are lots of ways to save money and give you a happy time with your family!

That is such a good idea, I think I might look up some limoncello recipes tonight.
We couldn't get the train as I have a large doggy (and he'd take up too much room on the train!), Plus with two Adults, it probably works out the same on fuel.
Thanks for your brilliant suggestions :A

Ahhh spent a fortune this week. Going to try not to spend anything else on food,,,,,,hoping to get a decent amount back from expenses this week and that will go straight into my savings pot.
  • I'm really sorry but I'm going to have to pull out of this Challenge for this Year....It's all I can do at the moment to stay out of more Debt without trying to pay any extra right now....

I think I just need to concentrate on making my Weekly Payments to my Debt and keep paying off gradually for the rest of this Year...

I wish you ALL the best for the rest of this Year and I will hopefully be back in the New Year for the next Challenge when I will have then finished College and be on a more even keel...

If you think you're struggling this is the best place to be, I regret not posting more at the start of the year. It's up to you obviously but do stay even if you aren't able to make any payments :)
