Won't be for a few years yet. Ideally wanted to clear debts and get a deposit on a house first before getting the wedding organised.

Sounds like a good plan! good luck with it all, am sure you'll get there quicker than you think!

    Goals for February
    Declutter 2/50
    Money Made £0/£200

    Congratulations amr :)

Payday also for me today and already sorted out my balances.

I got engaged to my beautiful fiancee :j:j on holiday last week, I bought the ring the day before we flew to Corfu so had to put it on the Tesco credit card. So I've added that to the new balances and paid it all off already.

    New balances: £2669.77/£4339.77 61.52%

Total debt went up but paid off more so my debt paid off percentage rose to 61.52% - really need to get it to 75% by end of next month. Still waiting for the £178 from Quidco at some point in the future. Could do with that paid out before Xmas.

    Congratulation Mat_Lock.:T

Congratulations amr on passing your degree! Still keeping my fingers crossed for the OH...

And Congrats Mat on your engagement!

I feel like I'm getting really bad at money management again. Once again I'm contemplating charging 'life' to the credit card because I've spent all my cash. In reality I think I've just been trying to stretch my day-to-day budget too far (covering train fares for interviews, using it to pay the credit card, extra fuel etc). I really hate feeling like I'm not in control of my finances...

i feel like that too. i need to learn to cook - i'm going to invest in a slow cooker and hopefully we will get more value for money from our meals! seem to live on bags of frozen stuff at the moment.

I really love cooking! It's one of my favourite things to do. I love feeling really smug at work because my lunch cost 12p a portion :rotfl: Slow cookers are not bad, although I really hate the idea of leaving something electrical and hot on when no one is in... I can't remember who I said it to recently, but if you do want to learn to cook, the best place to start is often with student cookbooks. They just assume people have left home knowing how to boil water.
