  • Smarter_and_harder Good luck with the first step this year - it will make you really appreciate your new bathroom when it comes. You're number 062

angelbob - welcome back, you did really well last year, can you let me know how much you want to pay this year? You're number 063

Bad Weather welcome to the thread! Let me know how much you want to pay off, and you're welcome to ask for tips on money management any time if it will help keep your wardrobe in (near) tact! You're number 064.

Maccydu welcome back to the challenge. Don't worry about last year, it's behind you now. You're number 065 for the year ahead!

Tiffany Aching my heart goes out to you - that's a horrible feeling. Breaking it down into more manageable chunks is the best way to do it. You're number 066.

rubywhatashmoo be careful with changing overdraft limits - someone last year discovered that when you change your limit, some banks treat it as a new application for credit, and it can affect your credit rating (if you reduce it by 8 increments of £50, they treat it as 8 applications for new credit). Not all banks do it though.

I don't *think* mine do as they immediately alter it and nothing is mentioned about it - but honestly even if it does count as a new credit application it doesn't matter as we got a mortgage last year and I don't want anymore credit! :p

  • Morning!! can i join please, I`ve just checked my bank account and its depressed me big time :(
I`ve got a loan of £21000, a mortgage of £19000, a credit card of £3466, and an overdraft !!! I was hoping for a lottery win but so far it`s not happened, I`ve started a second job which brings in about £250 a month extra but things are tight for next year... second sons 21st, daughters 16th and first sons wedding, not sure what to do really ( is selling a kidney still illegal?) anyway if i could at least get rid of the credit card that would be a good start so could I join with a target of £4000 (allowing for some interest) thanks :T
  • I`ve just paid off £60 ...only £3940 to go then!
  • I just made a transfer to my card account for £15.07.
I know it's not much but at least it's a start,

Is it OK to make an update every time or should I just post once a month when the statement comes through?
