Its feeling like a very slow slog and think am going to have to ebay a good few things to start making a debt and see if I can get a cheaper phone plan... I wish I didn't have to go to work in a couple of hours so I could make a good start..:o:o

Congrats Brokenpromiseland and pogofish! That must be a really great feeling for both of you, I can't wait to be there!
Welcome to everybody else joining the thread, I think it's going to be a productive 2014.
Nothing is happening for me debt wise today so I'm getting twitchy. :rotfl: Mainly this month I want to see that my budget worked, so I don't want to go overboard on the repayments too early on. I managed to get a 0% on purchases deal on my (paid off!) Barclaycard when I rang to close the account last night, so there is cheap emergency credit should I need it, which means if at the next pay day (end Jan) I haven't dipped into savings, they are going against the loan!0 -
Wooohooooo and big congratulations to both of the debt-free people!! :T:T:T
Everybody else hang in there!! This is the hardest part of the challenge, when yo look through and realise what the whole situation is but have little to no spare cash after xmas - there's another 358 days to go yet though, so plenty of time to make serious dents to debt!
Hello Spagbol!!! Glad to see you back on the thread!
What are people doing for New Year's Eve then? I'm having a very MSE one as I'm working in the morning so had tea earlier - all from stores - and will be having one small bottle of babycham at midnight (if I manage to stay up that late! :rotfl:)
Rock n roll eh?!0 -
ok I just spent the last few hours going through letters and sending emails, setting up payments etc. A bit scary but it's like having a very small weight lifted off my shoulders, not quite an anvil but I'll get there.

Happy New Year All
Thanks Minicooper for the number and for setting this up - it will be a big help this year.:T
I've joined Parsniphead as I couldn't wait any longer either so I've paid £276 today - £200 to a credit card (0% runs out on 5 April 14 and this payment brings my balance to £2,590) and £76 to close a store card down. I'm going to get rid of the account and the temptation. Cash is the only way forward for me now.:)
