Morning all and a Happy New Year..
Thought i would have to wait until January payday to start this challenge but i have food in the house, bills are all paid, £70 in christmas money still in the drawer untouched so i have started the ball rolling by paying £14.39 that was sitting unallocated in my account to the CC.. only a ickle amount extra but as i only ever paid the minimum payment last year... so im feeling smug.
That's fantastic and how I started in 2012, the few pounds a day/week becomes addictive and really adds up!chocoholicqueen wrote: »Ive managed to sell 2 bikes and a pool table on gumtree :j so i can make an extra payment
#035 £350/£5035
One of my buyers even paid £5 more than i was asking because he thought i was selling it to cheaply.
A good start to the year, i'm off to see what else i can sell.
Well done :Trecurrent-ostrich wrote: »Am rather pathetically excited. Went into my B******card online account, it's at max, but only has a relatively small limit but I've paid it every month without fail. It's at a low rate of about 6%. I clicked on the "increase my limit" tab, just to see what happened, and asked for an extra £1000. Got an error message, so logged out, logged back in to try again, and my limit has gone up by a £1000! :j If it's right, this means I can tranfer £1000 from my Ca*****1 card (thirty pigging five percent ) leaving a mere two hundred quid on the highest rate! Was feeling really disheartened today, NY is always a bit crappy for me, another year of being skint and hard slog....so a little bit of good news. I know 1K is a drop in the ocean with our level of debt, but it's better than nothing!
Oh I might try that but we have huuuge limits on both of our b*cards. Where are you with your total debt now, I know we were at similar levels at some point...DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

Absolutely! Have got to wait for B----card to offer me a BT though, as there isn't an option to do it at the moment. I'm hoping that once the banks are open again it will appear on the account, or i'll have to ring them!Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

Well everything is relative I suppose but £37.7k sounds very good to me, well done :beer::beer: I think we started with a similar amount either in 2012 or 2013 so I am super pleased for you that you are where you are! You should be very proud:TDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Hello Minicooper
Another newbie here and first post!
Please can I join this challenge as well? I have been browsing this site and forums account-less for long enough. I am also hoping that doing it this way will help me stick to it.
My target this year is £1500.
Would like to do this by July, but I think that Nov/Dec is more realistic.
...Wow this is scary but exciting...off to sign up for another challenge.
Thanks

Happy new year one and all!
Have spent the morning jiggling the accounts and paying off bits from our three credit cards
#45 - £857.48/£12,047 - 7% gone!
Really hoping that before the end of the month I can find an extra £143 to make that up to a nice round £1000 for the month. To pay this amount off is taking some serious belt tightening!!!

I hope I'm not to late??
I'd love to get rid of this £3600 by Christmas 2014 (from overdraft, credit card and loans)
I will do this!0
