  • Well, I'm underway, the first of the bank payments have gone out for credit cards. I will only be updating once a month though, once we've got all the statements, as total amount paid bears no resemblance to amount taken off debt, because of all the pesky interest.

  • Morning all and a Happy New Year..
Thought i would have to wait until January payday to start this challenge but i have food in the house, bills are all paid, £70 in christmas money still in the drawer untouched so i have started the ball rolling by paying £14.39 that was sitting unallocated in my account to the CC.. only a ickle amount extra but as i only ever paid the minimum payment last year... so im feeling smug.

Happy New Year!!!!! I had a couple of friends over and we ate and stuff. The whole night cost £11 cos we had most stuff in already! Not bad. Here's to a positive 2014!
  • 11 quid for a NYE get together isn't bad at all amr :D We had chilli and chips and I had one swig of Babycham before deciding it was disgusting and going to bed! Glad we didn't have a wild one though as I'm currently trapped at work - double time though so can't complain too much :D

One of my buyers even paid £5 more than i was asking because he thought i was selling it to cheaply :).

A good start to the year, i'm off to see what else i can sell.

  • Am rather pathetically excited. Went into my B******card online account, it's at max, but only has a relatively small limit but I've paid it every month without fail. It's at a low rate of about 6%. I clicked on the "increase my limit" tab, just to see what happened, and asked for an extra £1000. Got an error message, so logged out, logged back in to try again, and my limit has gone up by a £1000! :j If it's right, this means I can tranfer £1000 from my Ca*****1 card (thirty pigging five percent ) leaving a mere two hundred quid on the highest rate! Was feeling really disheartened today, NY is always a bit crappy for me, another year of being skint and hard slog....so a little bit of good news. I know 1K is a drop in the ocean with our level of debt, but it's better than nothing!

    Hi Minicooper,
Thanks for setting this all up again, not to mention putting in the effort over the year. Also0 to Spagbol for making a stellar effort as well in 2013. Please can you put me down for £21,281

I really don't deserve thanks as I was a bit pants at it after discovering I was pregnant!! Thanks though
    Hi

I am slinking in with my head down :o ashamed because I have not been around for the past 8 months, work and family & debt took over my life with so little time for me :(.
However I did hang in there with the debt repayments and just want to let all the newbies know you can do it :j

Today is my dept free day apart from my mortgage I officially owe no one anything, I am free:T to start saving & become a MFW.

It may look like too big a mountain to climb but you can do it just take one small step at a time!

    Well done :T:T:T

Well done and welcome to everyone! :j

  • r-o no matter what level of debt you've got I'd rather have the interest from a grand in my bank than in any off the CC companies!! Especially at 30 odd percent the robbing so and so's
