    NO MORE LBMs!!
  • I'm in!

I had my LBM over Christmas and it wasn't nice - it involved lot's of guilt, tears and panic :( I thought it was bad when I guessed at around £18k total debt, but when I worked it out it is actually £25k! eek!

There is no way that I will be able to clear that huge amount in a year, so I'm aiming for half the amount, so this year I would like to pay off £12,500. This is probably quite hopeful, but I'm feeling rather optimistic and am in a fighting mood, so £12,500 it is!

  • Happy Monday threadies!! :p

Welcome to the newbies and tea and biscuits to the oldies with car problems

Still feeling worn out after my first day back to work - but managed to avoid the temptations in the canteen for a NSD so it's not all bad! :T

Checked my bank as I want to make another payment but there are STILL transactions not showing up - I need to be more organised with this in 2014 so I don't have to wait for the bank to catch up with my shopping!! :rotfl:
  • Aaaaah spoke too soon my balance is pretty much upto date and I've just knocked £100 off my overdraft _party_

LOVE being able to change the limit online (and didn't realise I could do it by £50 at a time which will come in handy!)

    Soooo new totals:

    #008: rubywhatashmoo £200/£5700 3.5% :A

Disappointed thinking that I've essentially wasted 200 quid this month already - but at least this time the debt is from buying furniture that we did genuinely need - well most of it anyway :o

I am so impatient waiting for standing orders and direct debits to go out :rotfl:

    #020 £100/£4813.83

I set up a standing order for extra loan repayments so those kick in on the 1st, well 2nd, of January. I can't wait! At this rate the loan should be paid off by June, so I'm going to see if I can get it gone even sooner.

Hopefully it'll be better than you think! That's the problem isn't it though - staying motivated for long enough to really make a difference! Fingers crossed we'll both manage it this year and start the next with some real progress behind us x

Hopefully you will be surprised. Seeing the total go down certainly inspired me to keep paying off the debts last year.

If there is anywhere that will hopefully inspire you, its this thread :D:D

I know what you mean, I want to empty my accounts as I get paid tomorrow but stuff I bought before Christmas has still not been taken from my account. I know how much the transactions are, but better leave the money there until they have come out. Perhaps they purchases were all free, seeing as it was Christmas :D
