that's what i thought MC, surely they wouldn't be able to smash my number plate and move the car if they were parking slowly. going to take pics before i take it up to be replaced just in case.0

sharonej - this is my third year and im not sure of the damage yet waiting for the credit card statement around the 17th January which fortunately coincides with payday.
I probably aren't any less in debt since I started but im definitely more money aware.
I have a very expensive year coming up so I really need to be on it x0 -

re catalogue, i think i'd like it for in case any large appliances go boom but hmm...
just had an unnecessary expense- someones hit my car and smashed my number plate to bitsthe car body work looks ok but ive not checked it thoroughly. tyre was shoved into the pavement from the force of it so im a bit worried it could be damaged or something. off to the garage soon...! didn't see who it was - it happened any time from yesterday afternoon to this morning - although i have a suspicion it cuold be the BMW that is always parking like 1cm from my front!
sounds like we're both having a carp day then! Hope tomorrow is better for both of us xx0 -

Hopefully it'll be better than you think! That's the problem isn't it though - staying motivated for long enough to really make a difference! Fingers crossed we'll both manage it this year and start the next with some real progress behind us x0 -
Hi everyone,
I've been a random lurker for a good couple of years but today I have bitten the bullet and joined the forums, and this is my first post!
I love the idea of this challenge and would love to join please!
I've got a new bathroom on my wish list but think it would be wise to clear our holiday and 0% credit card debts first: £13,228.73
That'll be us card free at least.
Then it'll just be the mortgage and the car to pay off... One step at a time eh?!
Great to see other people's goals on here. Fingers crossed we can all have a frugal and fruitful year! :beer:Debt free by Xmas 2014 £7775.64/£13,228.73

Hi - Can I join please?
I have been in debt and a bitter sense of living since 2009. And basically have cleared some of it, then somehow consolidated it all back. At least what I now have is on 0% credit cards unlike before.
This year Christmas presents have been cancelled and next year I am cancelling birthday aswell. In order to help the money and bitterness
If I do not clear this this year - I may kill myself.
Or less dramatically might move all my finances into my mothers name and let her manage my money... that would be the end of my life and wardrobe as I know it x0 -
Thanks Minicooper - will put my number and challeng in my signature
Looking forward to getting underway but can't do much until Jan pay day - until then my aim is to use up as much leftover food and storecupboard stuff as possible to keep my spends down. Car is full of fuel so shouldn't need much more this month - but kids need new school shoes so will have to get them this week - thankfully we have an outlet store nearby so should at least not have to buy them full price!0
