Hi, I haven't posted yet since joining this challenge in January - life well and truly got in the way, health issues etc, but am hopefully back on track now. Unfortunately I've recalculated the debts and my total amount was £6176 not £5370 as originally declared. Could I be a pain and therefore have my total on the first page changed to reflect this?

Payments so far are #91 - £156/£6176 Im hoping to really make some progress with this from payday at the end of this week. The only savings I can make are from the groceries budget, and the plan is to try to eat out of the cupboard/freezer for as long as possible, and then after that eat as frugally as possible and throw any left overs at the CC's.

    Good luck everyone,
    E:)

just phoned v*rgin to sort out the package, we downgraded everything but it's still gonna be £77 a month!!! flippin sky sports. anyway, we've just bought the N*W Tv box as OH wants sky atlantic, comedy central, fox etc andd they obviously don't offer atlantic on v*rgin, and the others were on the higher tv package. its only £4.99 a month for the channels which is a heck of a lot better than paying more on VM!

apparently football season ends soon though so sky sports will be gone and i will be £23 a month better off:rotfl:

Hi Davies, is this your total paid off, or just your amount for this month? Can you post total amounts for me, something like this would be fab:

    #155 205/2000

If I have to add things up for people I'll get it wrong!

Hi Bublin1 - amazing what a little organisation has saved you! You'll be number 173, welcome to the challenge :)

Aphidgirl - that's really nice of your mum. That sounds like a lot for a debt management company, good idea to give them up if you can keep on top of your finances yourself!

Betsie, my spreadsheet says you're on 10% - well done :T

amr I'm sure your landlord will never notice the carpet anyway! There is a certain amount of wear and tear they don't even notice…

E2006 - hope it was nothing serious, and you're health continues to get better! I have updated your total now :)

If it's only for the football that you have the sky sports for ask them to switch you to their new package where you only get Sky Sports 1 and 2 aswell as the Sky Sports news channel and Eurosport. That's what I have done for OH and saved me about a tenner.
That's the only reason we have the sports for and it was the CS girl who asked what we used it for. I didn't even know that package existed, just shows how truthful they are to customers until they threaten to leave!

After having a bit of a think (I'm still thinking about the credit union loan to pay credit card) I've just went over and paid £25 off my credit card.

So that's brought me up to £250/£1000
No idea what percentage that is etc but it's looking good to me lol
