I think my financial control is starting to slip a little bit again.

Made a bit of a mistake with train tickets that has cost me about £20, which isn't a lot on its own, but I have had a few things like this lately that I think add up to about £80 this month alone... I have been very good at avoiding temptation, but when I've gone near temptation I have gone a bit excessive too!

its ok, i think we're all like that!

tomorrrow i;m going to have a good clear out! i bet theres loads of stuff i could throw away or sell or something.
  • Ahhh had a blip this weekend.. needed new running trainers as mine are knackered... ordered two pairs as wasnt sure which would be best for me....

I tried on gorgeous shoes today - £69. Loved them and would have put them on CC, but luckily they felt like they would rub! So thankfully I didn't buy them!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hello and I'd like to join please.
I originally thought I'd need more time to get rid of my pesky loan but last month I drew up a budget, started using envelopes and stopped frivilous spending. Lo and Behold I am £350 in the black with 3 days until pay day. If I can make this additional payment every month I will be debt free by Christmas.

    My outstanding debt is £5545

Sixth Anniversary Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
    Evening all

A good weekend for the finances. My mum told me I don't have to pay her back all the money I still owe her, so that debt has reduced from £900 still owed to around £600 :)

So the new total is £1947/£9141 (21% paid)

I also rang the debt management company I've been with for the past year (Baines and Ernst) and cancelled the plan, meaning I no longer have to pay them a £41 management fee each month. I'm managing the debts myself now and can use the extra £41 to pay them off faster.

So all good here! Have overspent slightly this month on the entertainment budget (frequenting pubs is costly!) but I think seeing friends regularly helps maintain a positive mental attitude so is allowed :)

    Happy debt-busting!
    Starting 2016 debt-free :D

Had a lovely 'birthday weekend' as I was working my actual birthday and couldn't see my boyfriend until now! Had a fab time and been very very spoilt, so hoping that will curb my temptation! (Have spotted some gorgeous boots though so let's see how long I last!) mum is also taking me to Harrogate birthday shopping over the Easter holidays as I work weekdays, she works a few hours on a Saturday and Harrogate is pretty shut on a Sunday! So that's something to look forward too!

Hit another £10 Marks and Sparks voucher as well, so that's another £10 for the pot when I get it, and then I only have Mothers Day to sort out :) feeling quite positive at the mo as well, as I'm starting too a mortgage on my own (not sure where boyfriend/I will want to live, were from diff towns, jobs, I just don't know, too soon) so the realisation I can do it on my own once I get a deposit sorted (which based on the rate I'm managing to pay off debt seems much closer) is making me really positive :D long may it continue!

Received my Tesco Car Insurance renewal (£516) yesterday and it's only £50 less than last year and the perks are rubbish anyway so found a broker and got myself a quote for £345 which included legal cover, European travel cover and fully protected NCD. I look forward to paying £170 less this year :)

Weekend spend = £60. £40 on a visit to the pub on Saturday with the girlfriend, 1 eye on the football, 1 eye on the rugby and the other eye on the girlfriend haha. £20 Trip to Hastings yesterday in the sun that got me fish n chips on the beach, afternoon tea and some snack food before we visited her Nan in hospital in the evening :(

Still have £167 until payday on 26th, so I could if I wanted to make another payment but I think I will try and get the car serviced with some of what is left.
