    Debt-free and Proud!
So for the end of February, we have a grand total of 164 debt free wannabe's (hello to the 27 newbies )

As a whole, we have now paid off £167,115,56/£1,307,998.25 (12.78%) which means in February, we paid off:

    £49,323.15

    Wow! That's amazing everyone! :T:j:beer:

Sorry minicooper, i've been neglecting my admin helper duties yet again - i've been job hunting and start a new job tomorrow! eek! So nervous as i really want this job to work out, it'd be a good career move. It's more money but turns my 10 min commute to a 30-40min one and has a 42.5 hour working week. Hopefully everybody will be nice to me.

As a result of the job change, i'm going from weekly to monthly pay so March is going to be a tough month until payday!

All this car insurance talk has reminded me mine is up at the beginning of April - i shall eagerly await the renewal quote...

  • The snow ball calculator sort of does this - there's a link in post 2 on the first page. If you enter debt amount, interest and monthly payments, it shows the projection of payments and interest. It doesn't give a total cost of debt though.

On the face of it it seems like a much cheaper way to service my debt; I'm sure there's something I'm missing.

  • Hi everyone

I'm checking in with my monthly update...

Feb was a bit confusing really - I was determined not to use any CCs at all, which I did, but had to 'borrow' £250 from our joint account (DH was aware!). It just shows how much I've been burying my head in the sand, and pretending that I'll just pay things back 'next month'... a lesson learned as I really can't remember the last time I managed a whole month without using a CC.

I also did two balance transfers at 0%, and although there were fees for both, my monthly minimum payments have been reduced. I have just made my first overpayment... drum-roll...

    #153 £30/£9790 (0.3%)

Oh God that's nothing  must try harder! My minimum payments will come out by DD on 17th March so will be able to update again then.

Hmmppff it's going to be a long journey (she says, as reality starts to hit)

    :(
