Not much to report here.
Jealous of all your bargain shopping trips! Especially Christmas bits.
I am not spending any money for nearly 2 months as I'm having a new kitchen on the 12th-14th Feb and every single penny is going on new appliances. I only moved here in July and I only have a washing machine and a knackered fridge freezer so I'm going all out & everything is going to be new. It's sooo exciting but also awful trying to explain to the kids why we haven't left the house all week & are living on very cheap meals but they understand and it will all be worth it though. Only 5 weeks to go! Tumble drier is being delivered tomorrow & I'm ordering the dishwasher on Tuesday! I have never had a dishwasher, I am so excited!
Then I need to order a cooker hood, table and chairs & fridge freezer & pay for the sink & floor tiles & a few other bits. Very small amount of time to do it all in!
Am I the only one who thinks that lindor chocolates are just waaay to sickly? I enjoy the taste but couldn't eat more than one without feeling ill!
Normal chocolate tho, I can eat bars & bars of unfortunately! Even with toothache, it hasn't stopped me eating, damn!Christmas Crazy :rotfl:
Love de-cluttering, to the point I don't really own much anymore. :rotfl:

In order to overcome depression, you have to take care of yourself. This includes following a healthy lifestyle, learning to manage stress, setting limits on what you are able to do, adopting healthy habits, and scheduling fun activities into your day.

I can't decide whether to thank you or not :rotfl: I just spent another £47
I already bought ds a D&G set for his birthday. I picked it up today.
Got Ds a Diesel Tattoo set for Christmas and dd a Ghost set for her birthday and a Vera Wang set for Christmas.
They both want money for Christmas but I know they like getting a new smelly and I can't let have nothing to open.
So bar their stockings they are both done( I don't count the money as there is no effort in it)
Ds is 21 this year and I have no idea what else to get him. I think money would be best but it doesn't feel very special.
No point buying him jewellery as he wouldn't wear it.0 -
Hello all! Been enjoying reading your news, seems like lots of sale bargains have been had, which makes me feel better about not finding any - least I know they are going to good homes!
Had an awful day, only my second day back in work and didn't I have one of those awful, upset/angry burst-in-to-tears moments that I think shocked everyone! Could kick myself but these things can't be helped. Basically it's frustration, after that big festival I managed last year, we had loads of complaints about one person (who doesn't work for my organisation) and I myself had a couple of issues with her conduct. However she was young, and I think, well out of her depth, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I spent ages calming the many people who came to me with complaints about her attitude and didn't even make a complaint about her myself when she got really aggressive with me at an event. Then after the event, we had an evaluation and she was named by all of the project partners in such a negative light - I can't even begin to tell you some of the stories they told our evaluators about things she did! - but still, I saw no good in having anything in the published evaluation that would single her out, so I spoke to her line manager to let her know and said I thought we should do all we could to make it about the importance of having approachable and positive 'catalysts' on these kind of projects, rather than saying ' X didn't help anything or anyone'. So today, I saw my boss, who met with this person's (big) boss just before Christmas and my boss tells me the first thing her boss wanted to pass on was feedback from this person about how horrendous I'd been to work with, and a complete fabrication about something I never did!! At the time I think I was most upset because my boss said it quite breezy, like she didn't defend me, but I think in hindsight, it was more like she didn't pay him any attention, or didn't even care if I was difficult to work with - she regularly puts me in charge of really challenging projects and once jokingly called me a 'pitbull' so I think she probably likes the fact I make life difficult for some people, means she doesn't have to! Anyway, I came out feeling such a sense of injustice that I started to draft an email to this man, with a very decent response addressing his feedback, acknowledging the fact I probably can be a bit stubborn but saying I was disappointed that he had relied on one side of story and that I actually had a little file of complaints on his member of staff if he wanted to see them. Then I asked my colleagues what they thought and they (rightly) told me not to waste my time and that it would do no good and would look like I cared. So I burst in to tears, then people were nice to me, so I cried some more! Such a silly end to the day and feel really sh*tty now. Saw Ruth_honey's bath/chocolate/Bailey's remedy and think I might prescribe myself some of that!
Other than that, my sister and her family are moving in February to evil Australia, so they're currently swinging from selling the house to renting it out, so things are very up in their air with them. Getting to babysit my niece and nephew on Friday so going to stock up on some cuddles! My sister's eyes are bothering her again, after her retina operation last year - is Snugglebunny8 still about? Think I remember her saying her husband had the operation. Wondering whether my sister is right to accept the word of the most recent consultant who (unlike all others she's seen) has said these operations will always leave you prone to bad visual disturbances - she's getting terrible flashes of light and a 'shimmering' effect. She's going to try and get hold of the person who did the surgery tomorrow to get some answers.
I am never quick enough to respond to calls for help/advice but I do keep an eye out (STILL can't resist checking charity shops for the One Direction single!! :rotfl:) so consider me a active, if somewhat slow, part of Team Solution!
JJ, we need more information than that on the new chap please. Sparing you from sharing any personal information (!) I literally will be interested in hearing everything from you getting ready to go out on a date to the nice things he says while you're out! Same goes for everyone else. Some of us are married and need to get our romance thrills from the love lives of others
Speaking of my other half, I can't knock him too much. In my post-Christmas blues I did my usual kate-down-the-rabbit-hole, where I started by innocently saying "Why don't I do us a tradtional meal for Burns night?" through to him now agreeing to 'marking' a range of occasions from Chinese New Year and St George's Day to Passover and Eid. The rules are: I pick and prepare the meal, he researches and selects a relevant film and we buy each other a very tiny token gift to open! That's bought me at least TWELVE things to celebrate this year :rotfl:On a serious note, we have got in to a bit of a slump with the food we eat and the films we watch so I'm looking forward to trying lots of new things and learning a bit about cultures and events I might otherwise ignore entirely! I'm calling it 'Celebrate 2014', he's calling it My Wife Is A Loon.
Well I'd stay and chat more but this is in essay territory, sorry!
Hugs to absolutely everyone, even those lurkers that haven't braved the madness yet...the sooner you come in, the sooner you can have an ElfNogg :beer:0 -
Stay Caitlyn please stay. I could read your posts all night. Not today's however. How awful, your team know and support you and are right don't let them see you are bothered. I am exactly the same with the tears and have said on numerous occasions "don't be nice to me!" I would set myself up a little file and keep tabs on any other incidents so you are in possession of the facts. It's so obvious that you are clearly very good at your job we might have a green eyed monster! I remember well all the extra effort and work you put in surrounding the festival and how wonderfully you rewarded your team after it, it's a shame that they've put the dampers on it.
You are also so right Festive Princess JJ needs to share more info! you don't need to know all but I do I'm her NanJust noticed on your signature, brought a lump to my throat you gorgeous girl. I'm honoured, very honoured indeed xxx
Tonight must be my night for high emotions Festive Princess brings a lump to my throat and Mrs M makes me cry. You are just so lovely, I felt like a right fraud, particularly after reading Blooming Tastys My DS is far away and I miss him but am being ridiculous xxx
Reen I am as they say "well jel" wilkinsons is one of my fave shops and I'm still grounded ha. Like Caitlyn says tho, at least the bargains are going to good homes xxx
Msgigglewick oh how frustrating! simple maths! it's not good is it. Can't wait to see what project you startxxx
Linky I was missing for a few days but have tried to look back! I didn't realise you'd had trouble NYD too. Oh my word what a blooming family, times like these when I realise walking away from mine was a blooming good choice. You know who is obviously spreading poisonwit@h
I do love your quotes tho
Funnily enough I copied one from FB yesterday hoping to use as my avatar but it's too small, will pop it on after xxx
b_e_g thank you but DH is long term poorly although not any worse at the mo (thank heavens) but he's trying out a colonic irrigation system (sorry too much info) hence the grounding and sticking close to the loo, apparently it'll get easier for him. I do hope so cos it's not very dignified, most of my day is spend trying to rebuild his self esteemxxx
Debndot Me too, I love it here :)more bargains! put your card awayxxx
Ruth it must be the day for nuisance phone calling! I've had three! will they take no thank you! I'm not interested as an answer oh no. Drive me potty. I'm glad you found a relaxing solutionxxx
Hanley the costume sounds great. Did you manage to get a sword? xxx
Mandco oh no more poorlies, sending hugsxxx
Ploddingalong it will be so worth it once your kitchen is done. A couple more weeks of tight belts will be soon over xxx
Freespirit my poor sisbeen thinking of you today. Must be some sort of bug you've got mustn't it. Hope it shifts very soon. I can't believe how well you are doing on the CBT challenges, you really are a superstar. Can so see where DS gets his genes from
He is such a sweetie. I think you must've been dead posh, cos I don't think we even had a tv then, just googled and it said 1969 and was only on three months so you must've been a littlie or maybe saw repeats. I googled to see if I recognised the programme and just didn't know it's name but no. xxx
Caitlyn , Snugglebunny hasn't been around for ages! I've bumped into her on other posts so maybe PM her. So the "big move" is ondon't get me started. But if I'm thinking positively DS works less hour, he is appreciated for his skills and well rewarded for them, DGD1 has the beach as her playground and DDiL has settled well, there social life is family oriented and the pace is very slow. They fit work around their social lives and spend more time as a family unit. What's not to love. (Except a Nan and Grandad) xxx
