Morning everyone, (just)
FLUFFYSOX glad you had a fab birthday and DS1 loved meeting Father Christmas at Thomas Land bless him, hope he feels better soon. I loved that book by Carole Matthews, hope you enjoy it too. DS2 looks adorable
MCCULLOCH ahh go for it, if i saw you it would make me smile
PIXTOTTS thankyou that did make me giggle, regarding the jalousie i would make it tonight or tomorrow (depending when you have time) let it cool, put in fridge then take tomorrow and heat up in oven, less stress for you. You can buy boxes of ready cooked chestnuts in the supermarket, i always use them as i cant be bothered faffing and roasting them chop them up and add to your filling, hth. Sorry your gran is still very ill and sorry your dad has been diagnosed with copd, you are coping with an awful lot at the moment, sending you hugs my lovely.
MSGIGGLEWICK hope the family get well soon and that you dont catch it

Made an ok start this week, wish I was more organised though!! I've got a stocking present for my son in law's a mini harmonica on a keyring
dd's and their bf's are 17-28 yrs old but I still like to do a stocking for them and DH. And the dog. Problem is I run out of ideas after chocs, drinks, socks & gloves. Girls are much easier. Still so much to do but can't bring myself to go out when its drizzling on my rare days off

Free, your poor daughter
I hope she is feeling better, if not I;d consider out of hours GP or ambulance at the weekend she shouldn't be in so much pain by now bless her! You must be worried. As for the stressing lol Yeah thats normal, I stress over the silliets of things. If Asda is due I wont even go for a wee!
Mrs I I hope you are not stiff from your accident now, its great its being dealt with so quick.
I still have 5 cakes to make and a shed load of wrapping to do :eek:Life happens, live it well.0 -
Free spirit - sorry to hear your dd is being given the run around. Hope they get it sorted very soon for her x
Mrsinvisible- sorry to hear of the accident. Hope your OK x
Hugs to everyone else who needs them, and well done to all those cracking on with the festivities. Sorry, I have missed far too much to quote you all individually, its taken me almost 2 hrs to catch up!
Kind of lost my mojo this past week or two. Dh is working away, dds have both been poorly (just coughs & colds) and job no.3 has been a nightmare!
Were all ready to go here, just veg to get closer to the day. Lamb & gammon are in the freezer, Xmas puds in the cupboard, all gifts wrapped, and cards sent!
I'm looking forward to this time next week, dh will be home & we will all be school & work free for 2 whole weeks :-)It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Evening, not been on for a while, not been 100% and took time to re-evaluate my life. I felt like I was being unfaithful because I popped over to different boards to subscribe to but I'm back here as it's like a comfy old pair of slippers.
I'm looking forward to the festivities but looking forward to the fresh New Year and new start more. It's so nice being prepared for christmas ad prepared for the bad weather and anything else life throws. So glad I'm not having to go around the shops now, thanks to you all.0 -
Evening everyone,
JACQUIS yes i find males hard to buy for too, but ladies oh god there is so much you can choose from, my DS isnt too bad, but DD2s OH i always hate buying for
WILLOWLOULOU no she is still in pain and feeling really fed up with it now, plus little man has been a bit grizzly the last couple of days so holding him and carrying him makes it even more painful, she tried all that last weekend and spent most of saturday in emergency assessment unit and still nothing  i have told her to make an appt to see her gp again as she was quite good and got her scan brought forward, im glad im not the only one who stresses over silly things, although i even stress out if i have a shopping delivery and make DS or DD1 answer the door :rotfl::rotfl:Good luck with the cakes
PINKNFLUFFY thankyou my lovely, i hope you get your mojo back very soon, it will probably all happen when your family are all together again
PINKSTEPS hope you are ok, i really admire you for thinking about a new start and reevaluating your life, its a big step so well done you, hopefully one day i will feel strong enough to do something like that x#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
McCulloch, love the idea of the decorated walking sticks and you should definitely have lights on the chariot - wish you lived near me so I could see it in person
Fluffysox, that's a lovely little reindeer you've got there
Jacqui I find the girls so much easier than the boys too - especially the big ones. With the littlies I can just fall back on Thomas, Mickey or Jake lol.
Freespirit, hope they hurry up and find out what's causing DD's pain. Can DSIL get firm with their GP surgery? I'm not a supporter of people using A&E for primary care issues (hangover from my NHS days) but if the GP route fails it may be that it's the only way she'll get more tests and an answer. Avoid Friday and Saturday evenings though!
Pinknfluffy, hope you find your mojo very soon.
Pinksteps, nice to see you posting again. I'm looking forward to starting a new year too - this one hasn't been one of the best for us although it has had some lovely moments.
Well, I had a great day yesterday with my sister, DD and DGD going to London to see The Snowman. We drove to DD and then took the train into London and had tea out before going to the theatre. Ended up buying a musical snowman for DGD which she cuddled all the way home and took into school today. Tbh the Snowman story doesn't really do anything for me (although I like the song lol) but it was lovely seeing DGD have such a good time. We've got the two little DGS for the day on Sunday (just 1 and nearly 3) - better get plenty of rest tomorrow :rotfl:
Happy weekend everyone! It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
I use Photobucket, so if I manage to source the lights (I KNEW I should have grabbed them in Aldi when I saw them!) I will duly pimp my trike and put up pics. The tinsel is now a given.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." im starting the week with some happy news, my Dad is coming out of hospital today, he got rushed in with chest pains last week, i couldnt go and see him as im full of cold, so been getting lots of updates off stepmum on phone.
lounge tree is up and decorated, promised DS2 he can be in charge of decorating the one in the hall after school. lol that should be interesting.
must deliver local cards this week and gt last couple of posting pressies wrapped and sent.
love the christmas pud onesie, ive managed to pick the boys wheres wally onesies-they were only £4.99 each at local hughies and look plenty long enough even for DS1 who towers over me at 6ft 5ins. (im so glad they are both good you cant really tell someone off if you have to finger wag while they look down on you)
Sorry to hear your dad has been so I'll, glad he's home nowMorning all,
DD is being referred to the orthopaedic Dept as the fracture is still showing on her x ray [not sure if that's normal!]
She has a Christmas party on Friday and had bought herself some lovely high heeled sparkly boots but will be unable to wear them now so she is seriously hacked off !!
Poor thing, I hope they manage to get to the bottom of the tendon damage as it's quite the worry!springdreams wrote: »My snowman Christmas tree
Love it!itsybitsygoth wrote: »Trying to currently figure out the best time to make foodie items for my hampers- truffles, biscotti, gingerbread, fudge etc. I think most can be made around a week in advance, but I celebrate Yule on the 21st rather than Christmas so I think next Monday will be a baking day.
Treated myself to a sewing machine from Argos, planned to make some stockings and cut the fabric out for the first one but not actually got round to setting up the machine and actually stitching it together yet!
And on the subject of half finished projects, I've got a scarf and a blanket to finish crocheting in under 2 weeks, eep!
I'm the queen if unfinished projectswelcome to the gang!
Adorable!mcculloch29 wrote: »Childishly pleased that I remembered to get tinsel for my two walking sticks from Aldi, may cut one piece in half and use the other for the trike as each piece is 2m. I am debating on picking up some wee battery powered lights for the trike as well, why not?!
Enjoying my Christmas CDs... this one, Cool Christmas, is still available 20 years after I first bought it. Great alternative tracks.
I need to see a photo!
Free spirit I really hope they get to the bottom of your poor daughters pain, sending gentle hugs!
Well we didn't do too badly at the craft fair, but I have decided that I will only be sticking with the local Etsy group ones as the others are too hit and miss!
The online shop is finally closed! I just need to do 10 more orders and it will finally be Christmas in our house!
I haven't done any wrapping, but I have at least designed the home made tags[/COLOR]2024 Challenges
Live in the moment more and appreciate the small things0 -
I am sooooo bad-I've been feeling a little sorry for myself today so I have ordered a new Christmas tree for next year. I currently have an Argos pop up one that is very pretty but doesn't really feel Christmassy [iykwim]
The new one is a 7ft Bavarian pine with snow, red berries and pine cones and in my defence it has a £60 reduction.:xmassmile
So now when we go to York in April I will HAVE to go to the Christmas shop to look for tree decorations.;)
:grouphug:Hugs to those who need them. I hope everyone is on track with their Christmas prep. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
