freespirit66- If I had room in my freezer I'd be tempted, unfortunately it's crammed to the rafters. Trying to eat our way through the contents but progress is slow with only two of us. Need to eat a cherry pie and two treacle tarts, not to mention 2 tubs of ice-cream. It's a hard life eh? Actually resorting to inviting people round to dinner just so I have an excuse to make a 3 course store cupboard/fridge/freezer dinner!

  • Evening everyone, well DD2s scan was a bit of a waste of time, she thought they would scan the whole area but they just scanned her ovaries which were fine, so back to square one, she is still in pain and even co-codamol isnt touching it :(

ITSYBITSYGOTH haha that made me laugh, i emptied our chest freezer today and brought all the things that need eating into the freezer in the kitchen so it is ready to fill with christmas goodies, but this year because DD2 is hosting christmas and hasnt got a big freezer i have her stuff in there as well, so i am going to have to curb it a bit this year!

STARLET lovely to see you on here, i hope you feel better soon and i am sorry your BF lost his job, horrible anytime but moreso just before christmas!

    Hello all!
    2 weeks to go =-O
Sorry not had a time to keep up lately. Thankyou for the birthday wishes x
I went on a spa day/ party night staying over at a hotel with 3 of my closest girl friends. Had the most fun I've had in ages!
Then last weekend my DH and I took our LOs to Thomas Land. (drayton manor) They loved it, especially DS1 who was thrilled to meet Father Christmas in his "Castle of Dreams".
Panto this weekend. We're seeing "Old Mother Hubbard"
In between, I spent many hours making a photo calendar for our siblings and parents with pics of our babies. Literally til 1pm at night cos I can't start til boys are asleep.
Same with the decorations. So December has been very busy.
Work (I do 4 days a week- secondary teacher) has a mounting workload too. And to cap it off DS1 is suffering from a nasty cough and vomiting.
Still one week til end of term :) And can't moan, there's been lots of fun for all in amongst it :)
Finally finished reading "A sixpenny Christmas" by Katie Flynn. Now I'm on to "With Love at Christmas" by Carole Matthews.

Childishly pleased that I remembered to get tinsel for my two walking sticks from Aldi, may cut one piece in half and use the other for the trike as each piece is 2m. I am debating on picking up some wee battery powered lights for the trike as well, why not?!
Enjoying my Christmas CDs... this one, Cool Christmas, is still available 20 years after I first bought it. Great alternative tracks.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • DINOSAUR_I - Straight from the farm http://www.goodmansgeese.co.uk/home . But probably very expensive as all free range and amazingly looked after. It's local to me, you can see the geese wandering the hill all year. Jamie Oliver gets his from there....

MRSINVISIBLE - Sorry to hear about the car, and glad you were ok, damn insurers and their whiplash suggestions... They keep saying to me "Are you sure nooone else was in the car... even if they didn't go to hospital..." :| The lady who was at fault and ran into my dad got £3000 for whiplash, insurance would be much cheaper if the person at fault couldn't claim compo!! They will also keep calling you for YEARS! My dad wrote off my car not April just gone but the one before, and I still get the phone calls because he hasn't had any compo yet, they are still dealing with his case, he got sent for a consultation with a plastic surgeon yesterday!! haha.

FREESPIRIT66 - Don't be hard on yourself that is the kind of thing I do! Not being normal is the new normal ;)

Sorry I've been a bit MIA, Gran still not good, but on top of that dads been diagnosed with copd.

Very quick urgent Q, well more of a predicament I'm hoping someone can solve... I am going to a Christmas meal tomorrow night, as usual I will be making the festive squash jalousie from good food website. Last year I ended up house sitting just around the corner from where it was happening, so just cooked wrapped in foil and took over and it was still fairly warm... This year I will have about a hour drive in total, from my house to pick a friend up, then to the friends where it is happening...
Do I cook it sat and reheat when I get there?
Cook it tonight and reheat when I get there? (surely if I'm reheating it makes no difference if I cook it tonight or tomorrow?
Prep it all and arrange to get to second friends early so I can bung it together and cook it there instead of end friends?
ORRRR can I make it all up tonight and cook it all when I get there?

    I'm proper stressing...
Also... I decided I would put the chestnuts in this year (left them out last year) how do I cook chestnuts!?! lol
    x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....
